The summer allows us a time to escape from the day to day obligations of life, yet those obligations always seem to get in the way of having fun during the summer :/
Really? I work in HR for an oil company making six figures and so do all my peers. Search on indeed for HR jobs in Houston and I bet there’s quite a few in the oil industry. There’s still oil companies out there that are hiring and paying top dollar regardless of what everyone is saying.
Going on a solo vacation to a city in the US is one thing, going on an international trip to Europe or a caribbean vacation by yourself is another thing. Those are the trips im hesitant to do by myself for fear of looking like a loser.
Cheers to you for admitting this. I cringe when I hear women lie about how much they love their careers and jobs, and how its so fulfilling. Who in their right mind, man or woman, would love going to work everyday in a soul sucking office job for 30 years that drains your creativity. I’d rather be a stay at home dad!
To be fair, she asked him about his job first which is implying she wants to know how much he makes. So she cares. Also, it was a little weird that she asks him what he does unprompted. Its called getting to know someone, not an interview. Maybe ask about hobbies or interests first?
Johnny this hits way too close to home to me. About a year and a half ago I left a long-time girlfriend to work a multi-year assignment across the country. We planned on staying together but after 8 months she called it quits because of the distance. Best of luck to you my friend. Austin is a great city!
I dont mind paying for the first couple of dates, but the girls I like the best are the ones that genuinely thank me for paying for dinner, and then offer to buy drinks afterward.
I used to work for a smaller company like this with no processes or procedures and everything was chaos. I thought everything would be better working for a bigger more structured company. I now work for a fortune 100 company with processes and procedures for every single thing. Now I realize working for the smaller outfit with no processes is better, because you can do whatever you want and create your own procedures.
I once read somewhere that men are attracted to women in white jeans because it signifies that they’re ovulating, since women are less likely to wear white jeans when they’re on their period. Although it sounds very creepy, theres probably some truth to it.
I think it depends on the age of the girl. If they are 30+ then they likely spent hours talking on the phone in high school and prefer calling over texting. 20-26 crowd tends to prefer texting and talking on the phone is seen as weird. I usually like to start out texting with a girl, and if things are going well I will see if she wants to talk on the phone before bed. Best of both worlds/ages. Its all about building comfort with the girl before the date.
Dont put out the “getting wasted/bringing random home dudes every night/FWB” vibe to guys that you like and want a relationship with. They wont respect you if you sleep with them on the first date or are totally down with a FWB situation. Relationship worthy guys want a nice, classy girl to bring home to their mom. Remember that guys will treat you however you allow them to treat you.
Girl #1 should just be honest with the guy and let him know that she was indeed into him, but he came on a little too strong asking her out every single night thereafter. That way he won’t repeat the same mistake again. But girl #1 should’ve also come back with a date she was free, if she was into him as much as she says she was.
Craig Sager and his 26 beers while golfing story deserves an honorable mention here. While wrestling may or may not be a sport, the legendary drinking stories of Andre the Giant should be included.
Im sorry, but if the girl is always out with her guy friends at the bar (and no other girls are present), thats a red flag to me and I would be skeptical. Things happen when alcohol is involved, and Im sure she wouldn’t feel comfortable if her bf was always out drinking with a bunch of cute girls.

It depends on which industry. In Tech and oil, HR jobs are plentiful and pay a lot.
