I rented a boat with a captain in St Thomas, and the owner/captain of the boat was a guy from Florida who retired and bought a boat, and spends his retirement taking tourists around on his boat and getting paid for it. I always thought that would be really cool to do.

Also, Im in the process of looking for some space to open a beach bar in puerto rico. If I can successfully do this then I will quit my full time job and just be bartender/owner on the beach.

Houston guy, go out on Main Street in downtown and hit up Live Bar Rooftop, Boots n Shoots, Pastry War, Sunnys, The Boulevardier, Bad News Bar. All of the bars are next to each other on Main Street so you can just walk from bar to bar and pop in and see what you like/dislike.

In Midtown go to Dogwood, Woodrows, Shot Bar, Pub Fiction, Irish Cowboy, 3rd Floor. Again, these bars are all within walking distance of each other so you can pop in and see what you like and just barhop. Midtown is very close to downtown so you can hop around between districts, or do midtown one night then downtown the other night.

Every place I mentioned is guaranteed to have the prettiest ladies that Houston has to offer and will be packed on any weekend. As for dress code, you can pretty much get by with a polo shirt, khaki shorts, and loafers at any bar in Houston. But the classier/upscale places might require jeans and button down.

Duda, I might have missed it but did you go back to working a corporate 9-5 job? I thought you quit the corporate life to become a full-time writer?

  • oilbust 7 years ago on The Difference Five Years Makes While Dating In Your 20s

As somewhat of an expert in this topic, below are some of the major differences Ive experienced between age ranges and drinking/dates:

Girls 23-27 Will drink shots, beer, liquor, whatever on a date and get blacked out drunk with you, regardless if they have to work the next day.

Girls 28+ Will mainly stick to wine or a craft cocktail on a date, and have a limit of 2 drinks max while secretly wishing they could get blacked out drunk. They want to appear responsible and like they have their sh*t together to their potential suitor who probably doesn’t care.

Travel can be pretty cheap if you know how to do it right. Using credit card points, sign up offers, last minute flight deals etc. I didnt make much money in my 20’s but always found a way to travel 3-4 times a year without going into debt or asking money from my parents.

Then again Im also not one of those annoying types that always talks about how much I love to travel and its my passion. I just do it because I like to sit on a beach and drink to get away from the depressing corporate office life.

Agreed about the sports fandom one. Im a big fan of my hometown teams, but thats not the most interesting thing about me to put on a dating app bio. When I see girls in Rockets jerseys and Fake Harden Beards on every single one of their photos, it makes me want to swipe left.

  • oilbust 7 years ago on Mailbag: First Date Sex, Windshield Wipers, And No-Sex Timeouts

Yes, unfortunately texting is the #1 method of communication for guys and girls that are dating and getting to know each other these days. If a girl doesnt text me very often or takes forever to respond, I assume shes not interested. Becoming better at texting will improve your dating life 100%!

Unfortunately If a guy ghosts you, then he probably didnt like you very much to begin with and definitely not worthy of your time. I’m not saying this to be mean, just coming from the perspective of someone who has been ghosted on multiple times and who has done the ghosting.

Keep on dating and find someone who likes you so much that he will stick around and respond to all of your texts and calls! Be upfront with your feelings and intentions. If you like a guy, be extra flirty with your texts, (overuse of smiley face emojis, extra exclamation points, respond right away, heart emojis etc) guys love this and will get the hint. Sometimes if Im talking to a girl its hard to tell if she likes me or not because her tone is so neutral and non flirty.

  • oilbust 7 years ago on 9 Very Important Questions I Have About Penises

If I know I am guaranteed to hookup later that day, I make sure to wash my penis area extra clean while in the shower. Also, rubbing some scented lotion (acqua di parma blu) on the privates is a must for me, I always get compliments from women about that.

There is no such thing as bad sex for me, but hooking up with someone youre not attracted to or dont connect with is the worst. Having sex with a pretty girl I really like and care for, even if she is bad/inexperienced at sex, is still awesome.

  • oilbust 7 years ago on Common Dating App Faux Pas That All Point To Why You're Single

I’ve met my last and current gf on tinder shockingly enough. I always like the shorter bios or none at all. If the bio is too long, its a turn off and the girl is probably a pain in the butt with an inflated ego. Also, “fluent in sarcasm” is probably the worst phrase you can put on your bio. Thats an automatic swipe left.

  • oilbust 7 years ago on Evaluating The Shooters Shoot Factor Of Men’s Health’s 6 Weirdest Ways Women Have Been Asked Out

I was at a bar dancing with my girlfriend recently. We were all over each other and obviously “together.” I kept noticing another girl checking us out closeby. When my gf left to go to the bathroom, the other girl comes up to me and flirtingly asks where my gf is, I respond with shes in the bathroom. The girl then asks me if I was sure because the gf was taking forever.

I wasn’t interested but I could definitely appreciate her IDGAF shooter attitude. She risked getting shanked by my crazy gf to come up and talk to me less than a minute after my gf left my side to go to the bathroom.

    NBA Comparison: Kobe Bryant.

Do they have boyfriends? Do you have a girlfriend? If you are single and so are they, and also attractive, in my opinion its impossible to remain platonic. I’ve wanted to bang every single attractive female friend I’ve ever had.

23 year old nurse: My advice is to go for older guys. Typically 23 year old guys fresh out of college aren’t looking to settle down. Most are just looking to have fun and hook up, kind of a continuation of college life. The 26-30 year old guys is the demographic you should be going for. They are more established in their career and more than likely over the party scene.

  • oilbust 7 years ago on Getting Out Of Debt: Cutting Up The Plastic

HUGE first step, congrats! Now work on increasing your income by any means necessary. Get a part time job: Uber, waiting tables, starbucks, focus groups, baby sitting, passing out fliers, odds and ends jobs, ANYTHING! You’d be amazed at how many side jobs there are on craigslist. Ive made some good money responding to ads on craigslist passing out fliers or working a promotion for an alcohol company or something. Use all of the side income to pay off debts and increase savings.

Friends and coworkers used to laugh at me for driving for uber part time or waiting tables on the weekends while working a full time corporate job. But now I am debt free and those same people come to me for financial/investment advice. Never be too prideful to make extra money working a job thats “beneath you”.

I look forward to these updates every week, keep them coming!

  • oilbust 7 years ago on Getting Out Of Debt: Creating A Budget

Typically this would be solid advice, but in the writers case I don’t think she has the financial restraint (yet) to open up another credit card without overspending on it and maxing it out. She needs to cut up all of her credit cards and not open another one until all of the CC debt is paid off, or ever.

Agreed. Target the credit cards first and pay those off before going after the student loan debt. Google Dave Ramsey debt snowball plan. Pay off your lowest credit card balance first, then use that extra money to pay off the second lowest credit card balance, and so forth etc.
