Part of what makes them great is how they’ve completely permeated pop culture. And watching them as a kid is the proper way to do it too, so nostalgia is inevitable and an integral part of the movies. An adult already knows the Vader twist and half the quotes out of context
I’m totally down, but I’m not down with the direction that widespread acceptance has taken our porn. The narrative needs to get back to pizza delivery and plumbing issues ASAP
Word of advice: if you try a standup comedy routine full of inside jokes, like women sometimes do, or hacky jokes about marriage and commitment, like guys sometimes do, everyone will hate you
Tell a well-established story that some people in attendance will already know, but make it the most sentimental/hilarious version of that story
It’s weird hearing Anthony Devito in the real world not doing his podcast character, especially since his podcast character is essentially mentally challenged
No one else here is furious that Girl doesn’t enjoy one of the best standup comics of all time? She deserves to suffer without a ring until her 30s. Todd should keep stalling
This entire season disappointed me but I wonder if there was any way this show could ever stick the landing. This entire season was just payoff (some of which was executed well, some of which was not). The show is not built on payoff. It’s built on subverting your expectations of payoff (Oberyn’s head getting crushed, Robb/Ned). At the same time, we would all feel ripped off if for example Dany was killed the moment she arrived in Westeros, because we expect most stories to end in a satisfying way, including this one where it’s extremely out of character

SD is hands down the best city in California. Santa Barbara and SLO…I’m not convinced those are that great past college
