Waking up early tomorrow, making a Bloody Mary and then cooking this fall/winter’s first batch of slow cooker chili, extremely excited for it. Football, chili and Astros baseball all weekend. Y’all have fun out there!
Couldn’t agree more. Two of my co-workers like to have misery competitions in the cubicle next door to me. When it’s 9 AM on a Friday and I’m hungover trying to grind out stories to meet my deadline, I don’t want to hear about your mom’s stroke on Easter Sunday 15 years ago.
Between Ross borderline freelancing tweets for the Washington Post at this point and your tenuous relationship with the NYTimes, Grandex is really making power plays in the mainstream media landscape.
It’s Texas High School Football season, y’all. Covered a game last night, got another one tonight. Then I’m heading down to the coast to check out the hometown and hopefully help volunteer. We avoided any damage but surrounding areas aren’t good. Plus, TCU opens tomorrow night — I need a 50 point blowout, badly.
Hope all of the South Texas PGPers and your families are staying safe. My hometown’s about to get railroaded by 10 feet of flooding from the Colorado River floodgates and levee system so we’re gonna be right there with you, Houston. Texas will survive, as it always has. We’re too stubborn not to.
I’m technically on the clock for most of the weekend in a freelancing role, which means I’ll be trolling through twitter for news, drinking several beers too many, and watching the PGA Championship and Premier League Soccer (Come On You Spurs!).

“My girlfriend’s family is well known in the area.” PGPM
Their marriage was a hollow shell. It was a cruel charade. She gave me the 4-1-1 on the whole deal.
Listen, I’m not a Girl fan, but “we can probs host at our place since it’s the biggest” is a lowkey flex that I admire.
I respect the hot take game, but I do not respect the hot take. Free Bird is an American institution. Up there with the chimichanga and Chinese food.

On the other hand, that Buc-ees there is clutch as hell.
If you didn’t get need-a-wheelchair drunk in Cancún, did you even go to Cancún?
I’m in west Fort Worth! Saw Western Hills last night. It’s such a fun sport to cover, really like nothing else.

Counterpoint: that ice dragon was bitchin’.
When I get real drunk on moonshine, I sign up for a full spread in Playgirl Magazine.

Every time the sax hits in Baker Street it’s a religious experience.
🙁
The greatest college football game I’ve ever seen, and I got to cover the damn thing. And to think my family almost left at halftime.
Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours and Glenmorangie are calling my name. Duda may be on to something.
There are two of us now??
