I understand your point, but I disagree. I feel that on a first dinner date, the girl is showing almost a common courtesy by offering, but the guy should be paying. The splits don’t come until a bit down the line. I would feel emasculated by splitting a check with a girl I have only been on a couple of dates with.
In all honesty, not trying to be a dick here at all, but I can’t understand why so many girls insist that they can rarely find someone who falls outside of these two “types.” Where are you going to meet these people? Both types are desperate. One, in it for either a) sex b) the number to brag to his boys about (desperate to be the man). The other, in it for some sort of connection and is desperate to get wifed up (and probably got crushed in a previous relationship). I have had this conversation with a few girls in friend zoned with and I don’t understand how this continually happens because they tell the same tale.

I have a feeling that would hurt my cause
