We all have our favorite viral YouTube video from back in the day. Mine might just have to be the video of little 7-year-old Latarian Milton taking his grandma’s car for a joyride, doing hoodrat stuff with his friends, and letting us all know that “it’s fun to do bad things.” If you need to jog your memory:
Well, a little over a decade later, our guy has yet again strayed from the straight and narrow and is back in trouble.
The child who stole his grandmother’s SUV to go on a joyride in 2008 is in trouble again. Latarian Milton, 16, was in juvenile court Monday to face charges stemming from a robbery and carjacking over the weekend.
Not great, Latarian, not great. In the last update on the kid he’d graduated from middle school, but now things aren’t looking too hot. Car theft seems to be a go-to for him.
Latarian wasn’t alone in this escapade, as apparently doing hoodrat stuff with his friends seems to still be his MO.
Investigators said the suspects told the driver to take them to another location.
When the driver refused, authorities said one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and struck the driver in the back of the head.
I’ve had a soft spot for this guy for years, and I’m hoping that this can be a wake-up call that spins into a positive. Get my man out of juvie and get him a reality show. If the “Cash Me Outside” girl is worth $1M then this YouTube legend should be worth at least twice that.
We as a country need one of those trash reality networks to give us the underdog story we need. Get the guy some cash, get him back on the path, let’s get Latarian a degree and some guidance. Team our man up with an ex-felon celeb (Mark Wahlberg or 50 Cent, preferably) to offer him guidance, and boom; hit show, and rehabilitated Latarian.
Hope next time we get this kid in the headlines, he’s on the come up. .
