This was actually me since last May up until I got my offer at the end of last month. I was either applying for at minimum 50 jobs a week, or was so defeated, I couldn’t even fathom looking at Indeed. I probably applied to at least 500 jobs before I landed my new one, and had about 3 or 4 interviews before I landed my new job. Taking a slight pay cut to FINALLY have a job in my field (I was a Psychology major, so getting a job in the field with just your bachelors is almost unheard of), is worth all the time I’ve spent searching. Your articles came out at the perfect time for me. Thanks again!

  • vatobs 8 years ago on So You Hate Your Job: Recruiter Mailbag Part III

Love this series. I actually recently got a new job, so I’m in my last two weeks before leaving a job I genuinely hate. I took some of your advice from this series, and I think it really helped make a difference in me getting the job 🙂

  • vatobs 8 years ago on How Long Should I Keep Texting This Girl?

Don’t ghost or slow fade. Keep things light and if you feel like texting her when you have time, then do so. Nothing wrong with asking for her Snapchat or Instagram handle in the mean time so you can feel her out through social media before your date.
Also go with option 3, minus the slow fade. Tell her when you’ll be back and figure out a time to meet from there. Shows her you still have interest, and you will also see if she reciprocates interest by following through with a plan.

I think it’s okay to have days here and there where you feel frustrated/feel sorry for yourself. As long as you pull yourself together and keep moving forward. Definitely needed to read this today.

  • vatobs 8 years ago on Things Girls Do After Graduation: Decorate

I know Girl isn’t a real person, but I sometimes catch myself thinking, how does SHE have a boyfriend and I’ve been single for the past 2 years. Also, poor Todd for probably having his balls hang from the tree if he doesn’t come through with an engagement ring.

As a former Psychology major, I can definitely appreciate this article. Thankfully mental health is becoming more of a priority and less of a stigma in today’s society. I still have trouble asking for help sometimes. I definitely needed to read this today.

  • vatobs 8 years ago on Uber Ratings Suck

I Uber drive and I don’t really care if the rider sits in front or back tbh. Although I will say the rider ratings are important because I’ve had a few riders who I thought were genuinely going to kill me. Otherwise, the majority of riders make Uber driving a lot of fun and entertaining.

  • vatobs 8 years ago on I Don't Care About Your Astrology

It’s more so the energy from planets than the stars that are claimed to have an effect on our lives. According to sites such as Astrodienst, if you take your DOB, place you were born and the time, it’ll create a chart for you for the exact points where the planets were the time you were born (your natal chart), the houses the planets fall into, etc. There are descriptions of what it means when a certain planet falls into a certain house as well as what your chart means as a whole.
If you’re into researching it, it’s kind of fascinating to see the different charts you can look at and see what some of it means.
Obviously it doesn’t tell you anything about definitive life events. According to astrologers, you can use the energy that is out there from the planets with free will. Just from researching and paying attention to when different planets are retrograde, etc, it is interesting to see what happens.

  • vatobs 8 years ago on I'm In A Slump And I Can't Seem To Find A Way Out

Her mistake was even mentioning the guy. If she’s currently seeing this guy/if he’s an old fling, you don’t mention another guys name 3 dates in, or ever really unless you’re being honest about where things are going/open up about the past. I’ve been there where I’m unsure of how to feel about a guy, but I usually decide after the first date, not 3 if I want to see him again. Not sure who the guy is to her, but she could’ve been honest and said she’s been seeing someone who she wants to pursue a relationship with/see where it goes or whatever. Bringing you 2 to the same concert was just a terrible idea.
I’m definitely with you in being in a slump. It’s hard to get back out there, but it’ll get easier. Just go with the flow and see what happens. Don’t try to find somebody. Just live your life, do you and the right girl will make her grand entrance if she hasn’t already.

  • vatobs 8 years ago on 23 Things I Should Buy With My Engagement Ring Refund

Treat yourself to whatever you want. For the first six months after the end of my 5 year relationship, I bought whatever the hell I wanted because I felt I deserved it to make myself feel better. Retail therapy is actually the best
