Working from home today and slept in, made a bomb ass turkey sausage omelet, home brew, and chilling with the boy while The Office plays in the background. It’s a good day, tater.
My wife and I order two separate pizzas for the same worry of who gets a bigger “half” of dessert…that way you don’t have to do pizza math in the middle of dinner or wonder if she is purposely grabbing the bigger slices first (like I do).
I set a goal this year to read 52 books. I set this goal because the Inc’s and Forbes of the world say that’s what smart people do. While I don’t think the singular act of reading has made me “smarter,” it has opened my eyes to different ways of thinking and ideas in general. One of the main themes I repeatedly see in the books I’ve finished so far is that a focus on the process is more important than the goal. Obviously a goal should be created, that way you have something tangible to work towards, but more importantly you should create a process that incorporates daily exercise, healthy eating, etc. Or in my case, a little reading every day. You can create a PROCESS of training for a marathon, or benching 300, etc…and a GOAL for completing a marathon and have a different mindset at the completion of your program. If you run 25 miles, or bench 295, or lose only 19 pounds, you technically did not reach your goal. You “failed”. But, if you look at the process and have consistently followed it, you’re probably in pretty damn good shape. Take this and apply it to various aspects of life and it gives clarity to and eases your state of mind. Be aware of where you are going, but also remember where you started. Looking back can provide just as much motivation as looking forward.
We returned all the stuff we didn’t want and got a gift card. Then used the giftcard to buy other giftcards for movie theaters, restaurants, and gas stations. Not as good as plain cash but still worked wonderfully.
Getting lunch from a recruiter wanting me for a VP position. It involves a relocation I don’t want to make but that won’t keep me from feeling flattered as fuck and getting a free meal.
My question is this: how does one brand themselves as a good hit man? There are some things you can’t just go around bragging about. It’s hard enough branding yourself as a good professional cubicle warrior.
As a Nurse you will probably understand, but I love that my wife works nights. I lover her to death but 3 nights a week by myself is awesome.
How the fuck do y’all know/remember this?

Very interesting you say that, it’s on my list for August. Good to know it’s enjoyable.

Make sure you edit before you send to Grandex, cause we know you can’t do it after.
PE…get ready for “right-sizing” and “synergies”
Sometimes people give you shit you didn’t even register for. Or are stupid and give you something that was already bought.

I’ve had some of my best meals on cruise ships. The food is legit most of the time.
