Let me clarify my original point: Lumping everyone into an average, with varying degrees of experience, education, hours worked, etc., and then applying that average to an individual case and saying, “I’d be making more if I were a man!” is illogical. It’s the variance in other factors outside of race that makes the average useless for discussion purposes.
What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Not opining on whether there is a wage gap, just that you’re misusing the statistic. Again, this stat doesn’t mean you, a woman, are getting paid 77 cents compared to your male counterpart’s $1. It doesn’t mean if you were the boss, you would make less because you’re a woman. It DOES mean that your boss is statistically more likely to be a male.
The stat is women are paid 77% of what men are paid ON AVERAGE. It does not mean that women are being paid 77 cents to every man’s dollar individually, on an all-else-equal basis…
If that were the case, every business with half a brain would exclusively hire women, i.e. the takeaway of “women working their asses off for less pay, even though they do the same work for less recognition” is bullshit.
the douche in me wants to nit pick this apart… do i drink the milk first? then when i really want the milk, i dont have any! do i drink a layer of milk, eat equal amount of cookie? do i do the whole thing down in one?
the optimist in me…. my, my, my what a wonderful time to be alive…
Lived with a chick with 3 rat dogs. I shit you not, she had a framed photo of each of the little vermin, each wearing an equally hideous neon-colored boa / tutu / feathery monstrosity. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t lock them in the pantry on more than one occasion to stop the g’damn yapping.
Which offers a better ROI: a Masters in Finance at top 20 or MBA at that same top 20 school? Doubt I’d get in to top tier, so does MsF offer more than MBA, all else equal?
my dog. go fucking walk yourself while I meld into the couch.
Drake the type of n that apologizes for nutting on a girls weave
When your file/model becomes 40 sheets, it’s time to rebuild it. That’s just asinine.
Aaaaand now I’m depressed.
Then why’d you post it if it’s clearly wrong?
edit: replace “race” with “gender”
What can I say, it was an apt quote.

Bookmarking this. Will circle back when drunk browsing. It’s the only way I could ever justify dropping $200 on light up sneakers.
LA Gear is still around and making affordable light-up shoes. The trade-off is you’ll look like a total dildo.

The parody of Y.M.C.A. was a real hit.
