Agree 100% with this. Learning about patients beyond their medical problems is definitely key in building a good patient-physician relationship (and one of the most rewarding parts about being a doctor is helping patients return to doing what they love outside the hospital), but it would be inappropriate to hang out with patients outside of a medical setting.
Morning meeting was cancelled, so got to sleep an extra hour and go for a 5 mile run outside since it’s finally feeling like summer. Almost the weekend!
Managed to go for run early this morning despite having to be at work at 5:30 am. Probably will crash in a couple of hours, but for now, riding the endorphin rush. Hope you all have a great day!
“I just shouldn’t be working retail, Todd. I didn’t get a degree in marketing with a minor in fashion to sell fucking clothes to a bunch of women who don’t even do yoga.” Not even realizing her degrees exactly fit her career choice, well done DeFries.
That and the inevitable Duke-Nova matchup were the two hardest decisions of my bracket. Ended up going with UCLA mostly because one of my best friends went there
“I mean, maybe you should give him a call and see what actually happened?” Nahh, apparently that’s way too reasonable (although props to Amanda for trying).
I understand your point, but I disagree–I think it’s really easy to over-eat healthy foods, and end up gaining weight (ex) almonds are considered healthy for many reasons but are also high in calories and fat when eaten in excess). Counting calories/macros isn’t a perfect science but is a good way to start adjusting portion size and making substitutions of foods with less healthy profiles for more nutritious foods.
Reunion of the Derby crew
Max’s article was great, but Crick’s Bachelor recaps are gold/probably the best part of the show–thanks for posting.
Props to you for such a fun and creative idea CMV–I’d be so impressed with a guy who did this as a date. Can’t wait for more from the playbook
Congrats!!
Definitely a morning runner–solid endorphin boost to start the day (and also my motivation to go to the gym usually is gone by 6 pm)

Good work! Congrats on closing all those deals, hope you’re having wine/tequila/whiskey/something else with that to celebrate
