I’ll get downvoted for this, but if you’ve got an old timer in your group who can’t play from the tips anymore you just gotta suck it up and play from the whites too. No reason to flex on the guy plus it slows the round down when you have to stop at two tees.
I’m a high school athletic director. We actually had a mom threaten to sue on of our coaches for causing emotional stress related to playing time a few weeks ago. We knew she wouldn’t actually do it, but you’d be surprised how many insane parents are out there.
Drink guy- when you walk into a bar ask yourself, “What would a manly coal miner order?” And the answer is: whatever he wants. Whether you’re drinking a Budweiser, a whiskey coke, or rum and papaya juice, no one cares. The drink doesn’t make the man.
Your second point is what immediately jumped out to me as well. If you think your buddy would hook up with a girl you’re seeing and not tell you, that says more about your buddy than anything else.
To me the only downside of most CC’s is that they only have 18 holes. I like to play a variety of courses in my area and if I’m paying thousands of dollars to a club, I would feel obligated to play there every week.
Then you have the CC guys who claim to have 7 handicaps, but when they play anywhere but they’re course they’re shooting mid-high 80’s.
