Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. Inventory levels are significantly below historical equilibrium levels. Lack of supply has driven prices to current levels. Lack of labor to build houses has slowed the rate at which builders can complete units to meet demand.
Rising mortgage rates and the middle class getting priced out of markets will slow demand for housing over the next 3-5 years but I don’t see any indicators showing oversupply.
Put one of your family or friends’ addresses on your resume and explain, in your cover letter, that you’ll pay your own way to get there for an interview. Out of state candidates are often overlooked mainly because companies assume the candidate expects a free flight and hotel for an interview.
I mean keep your retirement in index funds but having a brokerage to trade on the side is a psychological learning experience like no other. Human behavior gets wild when people stand to make/lose money.
It took me 8 months. I had my address in my old city at the top of my resume which think might have been part of the problem. I’ve heard of people putting an address in their future city and then offering to pay their own travel to the interview to make it happen. I got lucky and didn’t have to but I would’ve been willing to for the right opportunity.
Competition for good jobs is ruthless these days. I went onto the LinkedIn posting for my job just prior to my interview and saw that over 200 people had applied. If you count people that got to the company website through indeed, that number most likely doubled. Keep your head up.
Wait a few months for the baby to actually get cute. Even the cutest babies look like wrinkly, veiny, potatoes for the first couple months of life. Ain’t nobody trying to see that.
