We're not breaking any news here, but modern country is absolute garbage. YouTube user "Sir Mashalot" reinforces this by mashing together six terrible, yet popular, country songs.

The problem is the record labels. They understand that country is now the most popular radio format. Sam Hunt makes good music but could never make it on top 40. Even the songs he wrote for Keith Urban and Dierks aren’t country. It’s not too hard to pander music to 16 year old girls they just mention a tailgate, dirt road and moon light and boom now it’s called country. And fuck I would sell out too.

I saw Lucero and Drag the River last week; there’s awesome (alt-)Country music out there to be had. However, you’re not going to find it on the radio.

That truly sounded worse than the ugly-crying girl who got proposed to by an unoriginal douche on Christmas.
The lyrics for the generic songs are too embarrassingly similar, but as far as the music comes all country music sounds the same to some degree. All the most popular songs are usually written with the same chords with difference in order. So all country songs, including the older classic ones, can sound ridiculously similar to what’s out now.
You can do this with literally any music genre. Girltalk makes millions doing this.
Here’s some advice: if you don’t like it, don’t listen to it. We have this thing called the internet now where you can basically find anything you want.
In all seriousness, music snobs are the worst. Right now, at the very moment your reading this, you have access to more music than at any time in the history of the world. Any single genre or sub genre of music you could imagine you can find. And you choose to bitch about something that, frankly, is more popular than what you enjoy. Yes, more people disagree with you then agree.
So get off your high horse, spend a second to look on YouTube for music that you enjoy, and stop expecting society to spoonfeed you what you want.
