John C. Reilly has the range to pull this off, but not opposite Will Ferrell after Step Brothers and Talladega Nights. Ferrell is just a bad all around choice for this.
This movie is a lose-lose. Either they try to be funny and it’s just not, or they follow the normal tone of a Sherlock reboot and Ferrell and Reilly can’t pull that off / make an audience buy into their characters. 3/10 would maybe watch for 35 minutes on a rainy day if football or golf isn’t on.
