Having no options really sucks for our generation. It’s either pay your loans where most of the money goes to for profit defense contractors and manufacturing companies or don’t pay and lose everything then most likely get put into a for profit private prison.
Here’s what we gotta do guys, don’t contribute to your HSA/FSA health plan since the coverage sucks anyway and don’t contribute to your 401K (because the idea of retirement is laughable now) and instead take any extra money and invest in stocks for weapons manufacturing and private prison companies. Forget about your soul because the souless organization named Sallie Mae never gave a fuck about us to begin with so give them a taste of their own medicine and pay them back with their own money.
Or we could just continue to sit in cubicles, drive our sedans, eat our shitty lunches, and go home to watch Netflix and hope some guy on the TV makes shit better. (They don’t even have Happy Hour in my state!)
Look on the bright side, after working in a cubicle for a few years, you’ll be well prepared for life in a prison cell if you decide to snap due to the mundane monotony of your existence. At least the food is free and it’s always causal day.
I’m not acting like I know you, and I don’t want to. What I said is out there for you to find, that’s all. I love this country too, and I loved reading this column. Why can’t I comment on something? You did and I didn’t bash you for it like you did to me. I’m not a hippie at all, and I don’t think I know everything so like you said, don’t act like you know me.
Did I ever say that it wasn’t? You have to take a hard look at the things you love and asses it from there. You can’t just blindly support everything when there are facts out there that paint a different picture. You’re in marketing so you should know what it’s like to find results. What I said was not based on opinion at all, it’s happening in real time.
Don’t get me wrong, we’re free to an extent but come on, these are facts not opinions…do some digging and you’ll find out some not some glamorous things.
But the military industrial couplex has an annual budget of $700 Billion while our education system crumbles, never mind the fact that we house the poorest generation on record (in America) due to educational debt where almost 70% of that money paid toward education loans goes to the military and defense contractors. We who fund everything, never get to reap the rewards from the profits made all while our infrastructure is failing along with our social benefits. We’re the generation who’s retirement plan is looking like a cancer diagnosis with a 401K that’s gonna be used to cover the costs of treatment but don’t worry hot dogs are cool I guess, just remember to polish off a few dozen beers to forget about the fact that the people who run this place don’t give a fuck about you.
You can vote too but that’s starting to look like a competition of choice between Coke and Pepsi; same ingredients just different colors and different corporate interests, both equally bad for you….Because America.
Well after being in the South myself, being polite is a must especially when some of the the areas down there have a combined IQ hovering around ambient room temperature, If you can’t figure things out at least be nice to people, right? Also, religion has destroyed their lifestyles and thought processes, keep thinking God has a plan for you, I’m sure Katrina just slipped his mind when it came to protecting everyone. Oh, and down there forgiveness and tolerance only apply to wealthy white people who aren’t gay so that “Southern Hospitality” thing seems more inline with a mental hospital. And just remember, the people down there only give a shit about you before you are born and once you’re old enough to join the military.
The photography section is spot on, most people have no idea how to shoot manual and adjust the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO settings on a camera let alone use natural lighting to capture an image. The bored house wife example is hilarious and true.
Don’t worry, maybe once the rising costs of food and other necessities gets too unbearable for our generation, we’ll start a revolution and then probably get fed for free once we get rounded up into FEMA camps and then we probably won’t have to pay our loans! Yay optimism!

It’s really not pessimistic though, when this collapse happens, you can rest easy knowing that good will come out of it. And those spreadsheets you mentioned, those will be worthless if they aren’t already.
Working on it. The only problem is my loans are preventing me to afford moving.
Can’t hate on the sedan man. Haha
