I may be the only person who says this, but as someone who has lived here for years I like the occasional Broadway day/night. They are rare and far between, but it’s a good time when the mood hits.

  • Law Schooler 7 years ago on My Fall Aesthetic, Part I

Spring is the best season. Fall is just a reminder that everything is dying. Spring is where it is at. Walking outside that first 60+ degree day after winter is like finally eating dinner after having to work through lunch.

Order food occasionally. Definitely hit up George Jones on 2nd Ave if James Carothers is scheduled to play. His band is the best in downtown. Also to save money there is plenty of places that have reasonable drinks if you don’t mind leaving downtown.

Bruh, TBell is coming out with new limited time stuff all the time. Until I get there and can study that I have no idea what I’m ordering. I’m just waiting for the day the volcano burrito is back.

  • Law Schooler 7 years ago on The teachers on summer vacation, complaining about how little they make, make more than me. PGP.

I don’t think anyone should be constantly complaining about their jobs to everyone who will list. I’m married to a teacher though and I just wanted to step in and say good teacher don’t leave at 3. Grading until 8 PM is not uncommon, and they have to stay late pretty regularly in order to change the seasonal decorations in their classrooms like they are expected to (with all of the supplies paid for out of their own pockets), and in many schools at least in our area they cut back of custodians so they have to stay late to clean fairly often as well or it gets pretty gross.

  • Law Schooler 7 years ago on Watch Game Of Thrones? You Need Our Podcast In Your Life

Since my voicemail wasn’t selected I thought I’d bring up my recent realization here to get your thoughts?

Is it just me or is Daenerys kind of being an idiot for starting her invasion now? She didn’t land until Winter started. It makes zero sense for her to invade now. She could wait in Essos for the next 5 years for spring and then attack after the Lannister army has been decimated by winter and starvation. It isn’t like anyone told her about the Night King and she is going there to save everyone. The only enemy she knows about is Cersei, and because of her impatience she will be fighting a much stronger Lannister army and her army will have to battle winter too.

  • Law Schooler 7 years ago on Average Wages For Internships Is Lower, But That's Not A Bad Thing

Unpaid internships are kind of important though. It is not like every company that had free interns decides to have the same number or any interns once they have to pay. In fields where it is vital to have any experience for the job search the absence of unpaid internships makes that much harder to get.

I’m married to a lady who I found out after we were married had never seen Star Wars. Before Force Awakens came out I asked around trying to find anyone who actually owned the DVDs so we could watch them. Did not find one person out of all the people I knew who were acting like their lives revolved around Star Wars owned the movies.

Just finished a run in my attempt to get back to slightly chubby from regular overweight. About to shower and then to head to the library fueled by multiple stimulants to study all day for the Bar, which is under a week away at this point.

  • Law Schooler 7 years ago on Let’s Talk About Running People Over With Golf Carts

This trend will die soon when someone goes to the hospital and suddenly the driver is hot with a personal injury/battery suit. Potential for criminal battery charges as well. I’m assuming a golf cart would be classified as a deal weapon so it would be aggravated battery, and if there was serious bodily injury it would be especially, aggravated battery. Moral of the story even if 5 minutes of internet fame is worth more than your friends the potential liability sure as hell isn’t.

  • Law Schooler 7 years ago on I'm Not In The Market For New Friends

I disagree about Friends Groups not being real. It doesn’t mean that you are friends with them only in certain situations. It just means everyone in that group of knows each other well already. I have a group of about 6 guys from undergrad who are all really tight, and I there are 5 of us from law school that got close. I don’t try to mix those groups not because I don’t really like some of them, because I don’t want to do the exhausting task of trying to make sure every one is meshing. The different groups have different things that brought us together and a person from group A and a person from group B might not have the most in common. So it makes sense to not mess with a good thing and keep them separate instead of trying to mix the two into an awkward mess.
