If you’ve only been to downtown Austin, it isn’t anything special, but most of the fun things to do are pretty conveniently located outside the city and you don’t have to drive through never ending suburbs to get there.
Only way I’m watching this show is if they hit the Stockyards and one of them ends up knocking boots with Joe-Bob in the back seat of his 1-Ton dually before eloping to Abilene.
No shit. Boland is far more talented. My point was that nothing Sturgill does seems new/amazing/fresh over Texas country artists that have been around for 10+ years.
I live in Texas. I’ve been to one of his concerts, in Vermont, which I’m sure you can understand isn’t exactly a mecca of country music and he’s played on the radio there.
Jason Boland and Eleven Hundred Springs have been doing this since the 2000’s, I still haven’t figured out what’s so special about Sturgill Simpson other than he gets mainstream radio playtime.

Best part about going to AA concerts was ripping shots with BJ afterwards, but then he went sober (probably for the best).
