If I get chastised by the recruiter for showing up in a suit to an interview, regardless of the office dress culture, then that’s all I would need to know that I wouldn’t be a “good cultural fit”.
Gonna piggy back off of this; make sure there isn’t any identifying item or piece of jewelry or something like that in the picture with obscured faces. If you’ve had coworkers/friends over to your house and have a unique furniture piece or rug or something, you might as well have shown your face. Be cognizant of the background in the pictures you use.
If you answer the call and its an actual person, say, “This is an unregistered number owned by the US Government. Do not call this number again.” That specific company won’t call anymore. It worked when they stopped calling my work phone so I did the same on my personal phone.
This is why I’m glad I live 10 minutes from my office so I can go home at lunch and stream an episode of my current binge show. I enjoy going out to lunch once or twice a week with my coworkers, but sometimes I just want to not have any human interaction for an hour.
Here lately I’ve felt that the friendships with my college friends has been dwindling since we all live in different states. But I really like the idea here to get us all together on Skype to bullshit like the old days. Solid article as always Madoff.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to the store and bought a tub of yogurt and fresh fruit for breakfast because I’m going to get up and eat an actual breakfast only for me to do it once or twice and revert back to my coffee for breakfast ways.
Since my family doesn’t have some heirloom ring, I’m hoping that the future Mrs. has a family heirloom ring or that she sees the huge upside of a house over a shiny rock.
That was a big reason for my move to my Midtown area. Got a good spot for pregaming the bars with friends and now ubers are less than $20 round trip vs. the $25+ one-way from before. And when it isn’t super hot, I can walk to all of my favorite bars.
Low key night tonight, tidying up the apartment and catching up on shows from the week. Probably do wings and a movie or two. First golf outing of the year Saturday followed by having some friends over to hang out before hitting the bars. Then going to a beer garden on Sunday to watch the NBA Playoffs.
Balcony over garage any day. You can chill on/in both but only the balcony brings a sense of serenity. Especially on a breezy spring day or summer night.
Just finished trying a new Mexican place that is my new favorite. About to go get a tv stand for the bedroom. Going to try to see Super Troopers 2 sometime today. Tonight is either drinks with the crew or a chill night in. Tomorrow is cleaning the apartment and drinks that night with friends that are moving away. Sunday I’ll be finishing tidying up the apartment and packing for a work trip to DC next week.
Fun fact: Sam Burns was paired up with Tiger during the Honda Classic a few months ago. As Sam walks off the first tee, he told Tiger that it was crazy how many people came out to watch him (Sam) play golf. Became a Sam Burns fan that day.
Just discovered that pod. Listened to the most recent episode on my way in this morning and it was pretty enjoyable. Definitely got a subscribe from me
No state income taxes but property taxes are pretty high. Even renting a place, the higher property tax is baked into the rent. No income tax is a selling point for companies because they generally get to avoid property tax through incentives. It doesn’t matter what tax a state does or doesn’t have, The Man is going to get his from the worker.
Dan obviously doesn’t listen to the pod. This has been covered several times.

Yeah but was he promising your returns would create generational fuckin wealth?

Please inform Dave that I will now be having a couple PB&Js for dinner. Thanks.

Hoping the future Mrs can’t spot a pawn-shop diamond because I will definitely be purchasing a pawn-shop diamond

A bidet or baby wipes will relieve you of your 31 years of hell
Remember like 3 years ago when millennials were killing the suburbs?
