I honestly can’t get over the fact that you were able to take off 3 weeks for vacation… T’s & P’s for the post-vacation anxiety that will hit you once you get back to the office.
I feel you on that. I’ve moved 4 times in the past 3 years for my job so trying to settle in, find a group of friends, and balance the work schedule is pretty tough. I’ve found that you can find some friends by getting involved with local sports leagues/intramurals or finding a decent dive bar and grill.
Also 100% in on the idea. Just recently took a Friday off to spend in the mountains away from the worries of work. Totally needed to reset the clock and let your mind relax.
Although the idea of taking PTO mid-week sounds crazy. 3 day weekend > mid-week day.
I’ve been rockin the Friday Hawaiian’s for the past 3 with no regrets. All you have to do after work is throw on some shorts and you’re ready to roll into the weekend.
