Another week, another depressing set of trash news that makes you want to attack your eyes and ears with sandpaper. We could all use a pick-me-up.
This Stray Dog Crashing A Wedding
All the feels, all the happy. Marília Pieroni and Matheus Gomes Martins might be the chillest wedding hosts of all time because they made the absolute most of a wedding crasher.
As guests took their seats, a stray dog with muddy paws wandered into the area but was escorted outside. He then made his way back in again.
Rule #101: Persist until you get your way. This super cute good boy eventually was the star of the wedding, even falling asleep on the bride’s veil. But it gets even better:
After the wedding, the couple decided they wanted to adopt the pup and make him an official part of their new family. They tracked him down on Oct. 10, after receiving a call from a woman who knew his whereabouts.
The pup, who has since been named Snoop, has finally found his much-deserved forever home.
Cheers to the happy couple and Snoop.

Pollack breaking it down with this awesome Penn St. fan with Down Syndrome made my Saturday morning.
This is actually a couple months old but far too awesome to not talk about. A five-year-old boy in Philly has become a cat adoption superhero.
He even wears superhero costumes when he’s on his missions.
“We call him ‘Catman,'” his aunt Kris Papiernik said of her nephew Shon Griffin. She and her fiancee, Kia Griffin, have been involved with cat rescues and fosters for a decade.
Go. Watch. The. Video. I’m not even that fond of cats and it’s the sweetest damn thing I’ve ever seen. If every person in the world was as sweet as this kid, life would be a lot better.
A Cop Making A Birthday Boy’s Day
What starts out as a sad story gets a big uplift by a local cop doing a great thing. It makes me tear up thinking of an 8-year-old on his birthday with no one to pick him up from school, so this story just makes me want to give Officer Darryl Robinson a big bear hug.
“They said that his mother was incarcerated and there was no one on the emergency contact to pick him up,” Officer Robinson says.
Robinson got a hold of the boy’s grandfather and got permission to take the boy to McDonald’s.
The little guy went from being alone to getting to ride around in a cruiser and munch on some fries and a Big Mac. That alone would’ve earned a nice shot in the feels from anyone. But Officer Robinson went a step further.
“So we brought the eight-year-old to a squad. He’d never been in a police car before and was very excited to ride in one,” Officer Robinson says. “We gave him some Packer cards and little Green Bay Police tattoo.
A new set of cards and some fresh ink? Tip of the cap to Officer Robinson today, and hopefully the little guy has a hell of an 8th year.
Citizens Step Up To Help A Deployed Soldier
Nothing gets the good vibes going like some good old support of the troops. Army National Guardsman William Cookson started painting his house, but he was deployed to Kuwait before he could finish.
The Military Affairs Council at the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce got word of the unfinished paint job. So folks with the chamber contacted instructors in the Diesel Technology Program at the Salina Area Technical College to get their help.
Diesel Instructor Mike Parker said all 40 of their students volunteered to help paint. Parker said, “We’re just trying to come out here and help somebody in the community that needs help.”
Anytime we can band together and give back to the troops who give everything to us, it’s a story worth sharing. Good on these Salina, KS residents for showing their appreciation to Cookson.

Benjamin Carpenter is a single dad who adopted four children with special needs. I’m a single dad with one child and I’m pretty much in over my head, so this guy is dad goals times a thousand. This man is the most inspirational and inspiring guy I’ve seen all week. Tip of the cap to him. Plus his kids are adorable.
This is less of a news piece and more of just a really positive thing to read. The daily news cycle is flush with men who are complete shitbags, so this essay by Ron Finley, a “gangsta gardner” about what he’s doing to change the world is a good way to spend a few minutes.
“Gardening is gangsta: Mother Nature is gangsta. Being educated, creative and self-sustaining is gangsta. That whole concept was about turning a negative into a positive. If you want to be gangsta about anything, make it about building your community, sharing knowledge.

Bus Driver Saves Kids From Fire
Worth a video watch of bus driver D’Anthony Gilden narrating how he saved 30 students by getting them off of a burning bus. Gilden performed his heroics last month but was honored just last week. In a world with so many depressing things, it’s good to see a real life hero.
