Hello from sunny Los Angeles! It’s 80 degrees, the Patriots won, and I got to see one my besties that’s based on the left coast. So there’s no complaining to be had about my weekend. Unfortunately, that’s not true for some people. So let’s get at it, shall we?
Dennis Rodman
Kim Jong Un’s bestie got into some trouble this weekend, getting arrested for DUI on Saturday night. Rodman was pulled over in Newport Beach, CA around 11 p.m., failed field sobriety test, and blew over the .08 legal limit on a breathalyzer test.
“The Worm” spent about seven hours in jail and was released once he had sobered up. Rodman’s rep told TMZ that, “”Alcoholism has been a struggle on and off for Dennis the past 15 years,” adding he’s been going through some “tough personal issues.” The rep says he’s going to talk to Dennis about going back to rehab.”

The Guy That Pushed The Button
You probably thought I was going to say that it was the people of Hawaii that had a bad weekend, given that they thought for more than half-an-hour on Saturday that a ballistic missile was incoming. Which obviously totally sucks, but let’s focus on the dude that “pushed the wrong button,” according to state officials.
The early warning alert, which was sent to people’s cell phones, read, “BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.” It was not a drill, nor was it a real threat. Instead, it was a simple mistake, according to Hawaii Gov. David Ige, who said, “It was a mistake made during a standard procedure at the change over of a shift, and an employee pushed the wrong button.”
Pretty sure that guy is starting the week without a job. [via CNN]
Passengers On This Plane
Another week, another travel nightmare. This time, it happened in Turkey, when a Pegasus Airlines was landing at an airport in northern Turkey at around 11 p.m. Saturday when it experienced “a runway excursion incident.” The incident? This:
Very rare picture. A Boeing 737, after a tiring flight from Ankara, takes a drink at a watering hole in Trabzon, Turkey. Nature’s amazing. pic.twitter.com/dFdtnIqecq

Luckily, the plane didn’t plummet into the sea or catch fire, despite passengers reporting a strong smell of fuel, and none of the 162 passengers or 6 crew were seriously injured. Still doesn’t make me want to get on a plane anytime soon. Of course, I’m getting on one next weekend, so I don’t have much choice. [via New York Post]
Marcus Williams
I watched the Saints/Vikings game with a semi-interested eye. I dislike the Saints, but I also don’t want to play the Vikings in the Super Bowl with them having home-field advantage. So I didn’t really care either way who won. That being said, you have to feel bad for the Saints’ Marcus Williams. The safety’s missed tackle on Stefon Diggs in the final play cost the Saints’ the game, and Twitter wasn’t about to let him forget it:

Spoken like a true cocky Pats fan. Would love to see that Jax D blow up Brady next week.
I can’t wait for the Pats to make history and beat the Vikes at home. Downvotes inbound!
Can’t wait for Brady to blow his knee out.
That’s kind of messed up. I’m as jealous of Tom Brady as any other American male that is a not a multi-millionaire, that has never won a Super Bowl and that does not have an absolutely banging super model wife, but I wouldn’t wish injury on him.
I’m not actually hoping he gets injured. That was more of a rebuttal to Mr I.
Already assuming Pats will be in the Superbowl…you Patriot fans are the worst in sports and that’s coming from a UGA fan
Thank you, much appreciated
Sort of like how Jalen Ramsey guaranteed a Superbowl victory for the Jags?
Marcus Williams missing what would have been the game winning tackle and flying into his own teammate is the sports equivalent to slipping on your own banana peel and losing the race in Mario Kart.
As a Titans fan I’m obviously not happy they lost, but I’ll take our predictable loss over the upset Steelers and Saints heartbreak any day.
I’d say Aziz Ansari had himself a pretty shitty Sunday
I’m all about celebrities eating crow over politics (not calling sexual assault “politics” but you know what I mean) but that accusation seems pretty BS from what I’ve seen. “I let you Finger me and I was uncomfortable now that I think about it. So….. now you assaulted me even though I consented.”
At some point, each party has to be responsible for their own actions or omissions. People aren’t mind readers. When you don’t say “no” or “I’m uncomfortable,” but you do leave your clothes off and voluntarily engage in oral sex, it seems extremely unfair to claim the person sexually assaulted you after you’ve thought about it more.
With all that said, it’s also extremely irresponsible journalism to publish that story the way it was published.
Agreed. Me and my current gf had some “fun” on the first date (I know, look at me) and it terrifies me that she could technically go back to that night and be like “oh I was uncomfortable that night when we had sex” and claim abuse. When it was far far from it (obviously both consented.)
It’s become a very slippery slope between ruining someones career/life over false or exaggerated allegations and continuing the prosecution of actually legitimate cases.
Calling that piece “journalism” is an insult to National Enquirer.
We have PGPers in LA??
Also this weekend’s weather was the thing dreams are made of. I’m in the middle of busy season and I found it hard to complain.
