I’m doing sushi tonight at this place on 6th Street that runs happy hour specials basically all the time? It’s Friday night and they’re running HH specials. Nuts. I don’t know why they do this or how it’s a sound business model, but you know I’m taking advantage of it. The food is real solid.
They also do this bomb drink order they call a sake set, which is a large carafe of warm sake and a 24 ounce(?) Japanese beer. It comes with a little plastic cup that enables you to pour the beer and the sake in together, yet separated. Then you just take it all down. Ten bucks! It’s so good, too. Should be fun.
I’ll be hitting a couple bars after dinner on west 6th.
On Saturday, I might go out to the family ranch with The Homie. The weather shouldn’t be too killer so I doubt I’ll do much ranchy type stuff. Thankfully, we have NFL playoff football to watch Saturday and Sunday. Football and family. Should be fun.

Visiting some of the local watering coves. Trying to branch out while the water temperatures still nice cause I know the old standbys will still be there when it gets cold. Maybe finish a book too although it takes a little while without opposable thumbs and the ink seems to run a lot. Gonna get some range time in tomorrow maybe try out a (flipper-adapted) 1911

Going back to the old stomping grounds in Champaign tomorrow to see the Illini play Maryland and party with my friend who’s in law school down there. Classes for them start Tuesday so campus bars probably won’t be that full, but there should still be a decent crowd out.
Sunday Funday for Packers/Cowboys when I return from U of I because I don’t work on Monday.
Would kill for a Saturday afternoon at Kam’s
First bar I ever went to. 17 years old. My older cousin knew a bouncer or bartender or something and we went on a summer afternoon when the place was empty. Felt like the coolest MFer on the face of the earth. Will always have a special place in my heart.
Going to a Bucks game tonight, watching the Chiefs game on Sunday.
Heading up to NYC tomorrow to a Boston fan base bar to watch the Patriots destroy the Texans. Sunday I expect to be massively hungover on my couch with more football.

Boys weekend at the lake. Probably no water activities, but can’t go wrong with your boys, a house in the middle of nowhere, and some pigskin.
