I was a huge WWE guy for about a year of elementary school. I grew disenchanted with Stone Cold and the rest of the crew after a kid at school told me it was all a big sham. I never understood the grown men who go to a WWE showdown but if that’s how you get your jollies I’m not going to judge you. Celebrities running for political office is nothing new.
I wouldn’t be surprised if The Rock threw his hat into the ring for Governor of California someday, but this news out of Michigan is pretty surprising. Like I said, not a huge WWE fan, so when I heard that Terrance “Rhyno” Gerin had just won a Republican primary in his hometown of Dearborn, I didn’t think much of it. Was this guy a big deal in WWE? Apparently he’s an ECW legend but I don’t even know what the ECW is. Anyways, as of 11:30 PM last night, “Rhyno” has won the right to run for State Representative in his hometown against some newcomer in the Democratic party.
These small ball campaigns are a huge pain in the ass. I worked on state representative general election campaigns for a cycle and I wanted to leave the country after doing it for six months. It’s boring and by the time the election is over, if your guy doesn’t win the whole thing it’s just so deflating. I hope Rhyno wins. I mean the guy cleans up nicely and his highlight reel is pretty sick. He’d be a nice change of pace at the stuffy capital building in Michigan. Go, Rhyno, Go. .

Really? No Rhyno/ RINO wordplay? I’m disappointed
We elected a wrestler to a state office one time. Spoiler alert: it’s a bad idea.
In MN’s race to elect the absolute dumbest people to office, Jesse might not even crack the top 5.
Still a bad idea.
What’s even more shocking is the fact he did it in Dearborn, as a white Republican. For those not in the know, Dearborn is like the mecca of Islam in the United States — they practice sharia law there in some forms.
It’s not shocking at all, he won the Republican PRIMARY, not the election. It’s just a contest to see who has the privilege of losing the general. Abdullah Hammoud (D primary winner) received more vote in the same district than all Republicans combined, and the Democratic ticket received 77% of total votes.
You follow MI politics pretty closely for being from WI
