Amen to “I Loved Her First”. I used to work at a radio station and had a request hour. Fathers’ (most of who were truckers I’m assuming) would call and try to dedicate this to their daughters at least every other day. Hard no guys, pick a less possessive/pedofiley song.
We did the same-husbands mom had 7 siblings, all with 3 or 4 kids. There were alot of extended family members they wanted invited that he didn’t even know. They use weddings as family reunions, to which we said “then schedule a damn family reunion”. No regrets.
Preach! And I’m even less “kid driven” than my husband. Which makes it especially hard relating to the parent crowd. People don’t really grasp a female whose not baby crazy. My friend group is no where near that zone, but they are also scattered across the states.
I was on-air at a country station for over 3 years. It’s all such bullshit the way charts and singles get pushed and figured. Actually got fired for playing actual requests (Reddirt, 90s country, all the good stuff). No regrets. God bless Sturgill for speaking up!
As an individual in the wine industry-these were on point. “Do you have anything like a moscato” is probably the most asked question still-and I cringe every time.
