I was just complaining about this to my wife (I do the cooking) it is quickly becoming my new pet peeve, right behind people who don’t use turn signals.
My wife wants kids (we are going to adopt) and wants to get the process started because it could take a few years which would put me in early 30’s but my fear is that we will be matched much faster while still in late 20’s. I need those extra years to feel more like an adult.
Based on avg.’s of Mon Cal cruisers and capital ships and the star destroyers of equal size, the weight of the cruiser in question is around 40 to 60 million tons, which 50 million tons is equal to 45359237000kg. So given that kinetic energy (KE) is equal to half of an object’s mass (1/2*m) multiplied by the velocity squared, with the velocity being 299792458m/s (the speed of light). The kinetic energy of the ship would be KE = 2.03834E+27 J, which is just under the size of an 1A supernova explosion, and well over the explosive energy of a quantity of TNT the mass of the Sun. So essentially every single ship would have been completely destroyed along with Crait and the entire solar system.
I was bored one day and decided to crunch the numbers of what would actually happen when the ship flew into the giant ship. The ensuing explosion would not only destroy the entire ship, but it would be on par with a supernova and destroy the entire solar system. Science bitch!
Revan isn’t canon anymore. As soon as Disney bought Lucasfilm they wiped out all the old stuff. So now it’s the movies, 2 tv shows, a handful of books and comics.
I wish Rey would have gone with Kylo. Would have been a lot more interesting and set up some real opportunities to break out of the whole good and evil trope.
