If you have any interest in marrying this girl, you should have the finances conversation now. Blindly telling her “no,” or “you need to spend less” probably won’t go over well. Have her establish financial “goals” for your relationship/partnership, and then have her form a plan for achieving them. This will hopefully include some spending cutbacks that she advocates/enforces.
