Damn good stuff here. I honestly never thought about the relationship between my parents being laid back and me keeping my shit together/knowing my limits post high school. Looking back I’m 100% glad they did everything they did (except daycare that one summer when I was younger, that place was hell on earth and I hope it’s burned to the ground).

  • postgradhawk 8 years ago on When Did Bachelor Parties Start Getting So Soft?

My most recent bachelor party experience was back in May at the Kentucky Derby. We wanted to change it up a bit from Vegas a few years beforehand when another friend was getting married, and Louisville was a hell of a time. Highly recommend it.

  • postgradhawk 8 years ago on I'm Growing Up Too Fast And Time Really Needs To Slow Down

Hopefully I’m not to only one, but I feel like I’m in the awkward stage of still “having it”, but not more than one night a week. One more thing I could add to this for recent grads reading, is try not to get into a new relationship as soon as you move into a new city (if you are already dating someone from college that’s different). I did that because I thought it was time to “grow up” and that I’d already “had my fun in college”. Long story short I ended up missing out on a lot of good times/trips with friends. Instead I spent(wasted) my money on my then girlfriend and trying to impress her friends/family. DON’T BE ME.

This definitely hit home for me. Parents have been divorced since I was 6 and it still impacts me. My dad said the same thing in regards to why he got married. About two years ago I had 4 friends get married in the span of 3 months, I was talking to my dad about my weekend on a Monday right after one of the weddings and he said “Well don’t do what I did and just get married because all of your friends are”. Idiotic indeed.

Please tell me this review for the HDMI cable is yours….

“But after thinking long and hard, I decided to go for it. I was going to use that cash to get an engagement ring, but cables like these only come around once in a lifetime. I can always find another girl right?”

  • postgradhawk 8 years ago on Am I The Weird One For Leaving A Fan On 24/7?

I sleep with a minimum of two fans on. I always have a small one on my nightstand going at all times and then I’ll turn on the ceiling fan before I go to bed. For me it’s partially to keep cool, but it’s also the soothing sound, I can’t sleep in dead silence.

I can proudly say I’ve been following the chase since the first column about “Allison”. It’s been a hell of a ride and I hope it keeps going here in Texas as it’s all I have to look forward to on Tuesdays.

As far as the ex, I’ve 100% been there before, and within the past year actually. It’ll just take some time to realize why it never worked in the first place and you’ll let go. Definitely isn’t easy though.

  • postgradhawk 9 years ago on Questions From The Chase: "The Wave Of Rejection"

Good stuff here. Another word of advice that helped me, is to try out new bars in new areas of your city that you and your former significant other never went to. Now I’m in Dallas and this was easy, so being in NOLA I’m willing to bet there are plenty of those as well, or actually probably a lot more options. Getting some new scenery in your sights always helps. Good luck out there.
