I made Velveeta queso with chorizo out of respect for my fiancee’s Mexican/Guatemalan heritage and my own white trash Great Plains roots, baked a homemade pizza because it can easily be made while watching the game, and shucked some oysters to negate the trashiness of eating cheese dip and cheese bread for a meal.
I got my Columbia pants and jacket for about $200 total and they are super warm and waterproof for last three seasons. No regrets on not shelling out more.
Once you have the clothing and gear it isn’t bad price-wise, maybe $60 a season on maintenance for my level. I have a season pass for $375 (Loveland Ski Area is where it’s at) a year. I just tried snowboarding and suck royal ass at it but skiing is a load of a fun after you get a few days in to pick it up.
I look Lyft Line once (ended up sharing it with an AWFUL couple that talked incessantly). Never again. I’ll pay two more dollars a ride and enjoy my life.
I don’t really have friends in my current city (and I’ve been here for four years) other than current and former co-workers who have similar drinking habits who I meet up with on the weekends on occasion, but those aren’t really the same thing.
My core group of friends (5 or so guys) live spread across Kansas City to Arizona and don’t see them more than a handful of times a year. I enjoy spending time conversing, drinking, cooking, sightseeing, traveling, etc. with my fiancee, but am I missing out on something by not being more sociable? I am generally friendly but I really just don’t care that much to try to hang out with new people.
Anybody else here get $20 of lottery tickets as a gift from a family member for your birthday as a kid? I did a lot and I rarely even cared most of the time not a single one hit paydirt. Damn, it was exhilarating.
I finally got it close to restaurant-style this time. Soaked dried chickpeas rather than canned, and cooked them on high in slow cooker with baking soda to completely break down the skins and make them easy to blend. Also used a whole jar of tahini to make tahini-lemon-garlic sauce to go into it.
This is psycho stuff, but dammit I respect it.
Did your preteen little brother hack your account, Scribbles?

Thor: Ragnarok was one of the best films of the year.
GTFO of here, dude.
This is making me cringe. C’mon, Eric!
Agent Michael Scarn would absolutely create an itinerary for his own birthday brunch.
I’m uncoordinated and unathletic, so gliding down a mountain going forty miles an hour is a fucking thrill.

I love that my K2s were $160 new because Sports Authority couldn’t run a business.

A straightener is not a curler, Willifred. But props to your ladyfriend on being fiscally-conscious.

I’m not retiring for 35 years and have employer match up to the level I’m currently investing so I will try not to worry about it when it does happen.
I can’t tell if you’re being a try-hard or this is a porn industry joke.
I’m gonna make Velveeta queso and flip back to the commercials occasionally and maybe even the game if the score is close after half.
Eh, Vanguard 500 Index Fund Admiral is down a bit but still up like 20% over last year.
