Moved from a 6-7 to a 1-2 about six months ago, less opportunity but better pay and haven’t felt happier. Friends at my old job are still miserable and getting picked off like flies to gtfo, so glad I left when I did.
Met a girl for a brunch first date a little over a month ago, I hungover as I took my last CPA exam, and her totally great. Took all my power to keep it together and not seem like a complete degenerate.
As someone from Seattle, exactly how I expected this transition to go, Amazon’s hyper-attention to every detail is not a perfect match for grocery which is inherently imperfect.
Started seeing a girl over the past month (well out-kicked my coverage), and have made a huge point of not checking my phone when I’m with her or if we are going to food or whatever for an hour or two, leaving my phone at home all together, highly recommend and feels refreshing to disconnect.
I believeDave Chappelle has been doing this for a few years atoo, heard about it at the time and he discusses it in one of his specials too, love the idea and kind of wish more places begin to push this.
