Was flat chested af. Got a boob job. Not huge…just large natural looking ones — 34AA to 34D(go to a good plastic surgeon and he/she will know what looks best). Best money ever spent. Clothes look better. They’re not so ridiculous that I always look like a whore, but also very capable of making that look happen. Pain wasn’t unbearable. It’s not as awkward to talk about as you think (people quit thinking about it once it’s not new). Did it for me, I don’t care if people think natural is better.
My favorite moment of law school was being cold called to talk about a theory in the case book. I straight up said it was stupid. I didn’t pay enough attention to realize my professor had written that theory. Luckily, I had solid reasoning as to why I thought it was dumb, and he acknowledged the fact that it was a controversial theory. Even though the entire class stared at me slack-jawed, I think the prof enjoyed being challenged. I did not enjoy being the one who challenged him.
My advice is be sure you actually want to do it. I was on the fence. I had some small scholarships, so I thought “why the hell not?” I hated 1L year. I clerked that summer and hated it even more. I went ahead and finished my degree because I had already invested so much money into it (and my career path is very JD preferred even if it’s not law). I was 20 when I graduated undergrad. I started law school before I was 21. The decision was very heavily influenced by putting off the real world, and having an internal desire to make my mother proud of everything I do. Do I hate myself for being an overachiever? Yes. If I could go back in time, would I do it again? Absolutely not.
BUT, he’s right. Law school does completely change the way you think, and that has been so extremely useful in my job now, as well as just life in general. If you go, you’re going to get really good at time management. Like…really good.
Just a thought on this: A year and a half (holy cow it doesn’t seem that long ago) I started a non-exclusive relationship with someone. We made it very painfully clear to each other that it would not be exclusive. And that’s how it started. We had each other, but could go have fun with other people, too. But somehow, despite all of our efforts to make it a casual, non-exclusive thing, we ended up spending 4+ nights/week hanging out, talking all the time, and very much exclusive. He even met my parents. He’s since moved to the UK, so our “non-exclusive thing” has turned into a VERY non-exclusive thing. But we still facetime weekly and chat regularly. So sometimes the non-exclusive thing does work it’s way into you having it all (just at different times)
Went to law school. Took the bar. Decided to not practice law at all. Still really happy with that decision. (But you sound way more passionate about law than I am)
I used to put something about sports in my bio, but it was really more of a “hey if you don’t like athletics this won’t work” warning because it’s literally my life…like I work in sports. People around me will learn way too much about college athletics from me whether they want to or not
A lot of schools waive admission requirements for scholarship athletes as long as they’re deemed final qualifiers by the NCAA (it’s pretty low academic standards). Maybe he played soccer or swam for NW? Although tbh NW is probably NOT one of those schools
Jesus this was good to read. Because I called a therapist yesterday to set up a first appointment and have been having basically those exact same feelings.
I did undergrad and law school at Tech. Being in Lubbock for TTU is an amazing experience. But anything more than one degree, you run out of things to do (you can only go to Chimy’s *so many* times).
And just throwing this out there, San Antonio > any other Texas city. Cheaper, tons to do, close to all the Austin/Hill Country stuff still. I grew up in DFW, and like down here way more
HAHA, so accurate. Currently sitting in SA. Yes cool front, yes 90% humidity. Still too hot to function.
Fair…people quit *asking* about it

I can confirm I’ve done this exact same thing even down to redraidersports
Alamo Heights or Dallas location?
Doseum’s ReDo events = children’s museum + alcohol. The. Best.

Dude. Even two years out of law school, I’m pretty sure the law school goggles are still real.
15 year or older on scotch imo
Also agree with themis

It’s amazing how accurate this is.
Side note: Gunnevera is a really good pick imo
I kinda disagree re: LBK/TTU
