Aspiring to be casually rich and office hot, while plugging away at an entry level job that promises a pension and good benefits because #compromise and idk maybe I’ll make enough to buy a fancy Japanese toilet.
I have a tendency to run away and/or move to foreign countries when life gets "too real" or I'm feeling restless. This has resulted in me being both single af and struggling to buy a studio apartment where my bed folds into a wall.
Champagne taste, sparkling water budget; so my 5 year plan is to marry money -and then ride out the alimony payments once he realizes what a nightmare I am.
My summer camp councillor told me this when I was about 10 years old and it really stuck with me. Honestly haven’t felt true jealousy since. Game changing advice.
Plus we all know how much of a lie/facade IG is so I feel like that’s comforting.
As a female -and feminist (and someone who passes out judgement on the most arbitrary things) I fully support this move.
Honestly just makes me cringe that girls think height is an acceptable thing to judge people on.
That said you’ve dodged yourself a bullet cause she sounds awful and not worth your time.
I spent a couple years traveling Europe and I pretty much just know how to say hello, thank you, and a few swear words in each language. Truthfully everyone really does speak English, you’ll be fine.
Bring cash (leave most of it at your hotel and just take a days worth at a time because of pickpockets) if you can but they absolutely take cards and there’s ATMs everywhere.
You’ll drink a lot of wine. And if you do it right eat a lot of amazing food. Sorry, no way around this one.
As for Amsterdam you can just mention to everyone at work how great the pastries are and maybe make a few comments about bicycles and being more environmentally friendly.
Open container policy is legit. The first place I went was Germany and two construction workers were having a few beers waiting for the bus… for breakfast. That honestly pretty much sets the tone, super relaxed there just maybe don’t bring any into a church. And don’t look like a drunken tourist, but only so people don’t hate you (this applies to only France and Spain cause most of Amsterdam is obviously drunk/high and 90% obnoxious tourists) or see you as a target to pickpocket. They leave locals alone but do go after obvious tourists.
Very cool and big of you to share this. You’re definitely not alone. I’m in the boat of not wanting to ask my doctor cause I think I know the answer and I don’t want to hear that just yet knowing the hopes and money that my married girlfriends have had crushed by the same thing. Family’s come in all different ways and it sounds like you have an grounded and positive perspective on this. Wishing you all the best!!
Big fan of the monogram. Bougie af but in a subtle way. Also as a lady nothing I’m super down with the rolled up sleeve look, that with an untied bow tie (tie can only happen at the end of the night) and I’m good to go.
I don’t drink coffee cause it does nothing for me. Doesn’t wake me up or make me more productive or focused. And if any is in my system after 1pm I’m not gonna be able to sleep (it just keeps me awake, not energized). I figure for something that has no positive effects on me, and that I don’t like the taste of (unless I throw a million sugar and cream calories in) it just makes more sense to not bother with any of it.
Love the smell and down with coffee flavoured shit tho.
I feel personally attacked. 31 and 4 roommates. But we also live in a hella nice (rented) house, my bedroom has a private balcony, gas fireplace and lake-view for around $600/month. Sometimes you make sacrifices to have AC, laundry and a dishwasher.
West Coast Canadian, I’ve never been to Chicago but aside from the rolled up pants (I’m short, but have the common sense to visit a tailor) I feel personally attacked by just about all these.
Full transparency I’m 5’1 so everyone’s taller than me but I still think it’s a trash move.

What the actual fuck is wrong with your school.

Can confirm. Lived there for 2 years and the whole time fantasized about ice water, AC, and a top sheet on my bed.
Ouch with the JayTas reference
I’m 100% in on this take
Free the nipple.
Not having a top sheet is my nightmare
My bedroom is 100% this and I promise you I am single af

Please don’t put that on your tinder bio.

Calvin & Hobbs is the GOAT
100% give me a house (or an extra 5-10% towards a house..) or a an awesome honeymoon. Don’t need to spend more than $300 on a ring.
