A literal real estate novelist living, working, and writing in the City of Angels. Author of the novels Loafing by La Brea, Pumpkin Farmer, and The Crimson Shamrock.
I read an article about a study claiming that drinking a lot of coffee (black, without cream and sugar) can offset liver damage from drinking alcohol. Not sure if it’s true, just wanted to put it out there.
Sad to see that this is what qualifies as a startup. Sort of brings to the mind the “dude, where is my flying car?” question with respect to what we now consider to be cutting edge and/or new.
It’s really a structural problem, and it probably won’t get better soon. All those people who say that the percent of people in the labor force is dropping due to retirement are full of it. Really, older people can’t afford to retire, and there are not enough jobs as it is. It’s mainly younger people opting out (what they do for money one can only imagine).
Her advice makes sense if you follow the trajectory of our economic prospects . . . embrace the decline.
I think Ludacris had a great set of lyrics with respect to issue number one. Also, totally agree on the bikers.
Amen.

I need to be more productive writing when I drink. Props to you.
The worst is getting stuck behind people who pay with coins/coupons. Drives me batshit.
I don’t even have an iPhone and I’m kinda pissed it doesn’t include a jack.
This sounds intriguing . . . then again, I wouldn’t be able to kill as much time walking to the coffee pot for my frequent 8oz refills.
Looking forward to it.
Always a good drink to start the night.
When is A Thud and a Splash Chapter II coming out?
This article is too true.
I love how the stock footage car for this article is a Jag X-Type; the Cadillac Cimarron of Jaguars.
Like a reverse beard?
I had a buddy in college I’d go to bars with sometimes, and he’d make some elaborate back story . . . sober.
