I really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing. Like you, I feel like I often suffer from the “the green might be greener” mentality in a lot of aspects (relationships, jobs, places to live, etc.). Some of these comments have good advice about being thankful for what you have, and being realistic about life, but I’m also a big proponent of following gut feelings, which sounds like what you were doing. Keep on keeping on.
I second this. I was called for jury duty the week before the bar, got it rescheduled for the month after, then my group was dismissed the day before. Was actually pretty bummed
I have friends send me their photos to edit on VSCO because I drunkenly purchased all the filters last winter. Making the world a better place, one insta at a time.
Agreed on the bar exam– it’s worth investing. Friends who used Barbri passed – more who used Kaplan or Themis did not. Granted, this is anecdotal evidence so take it as you wish. I just know that taking the same state twice is a hard hit. Also, I heard that if you’re going into public sector work there’s a small discount/incentive, and is worth asking your reps about. The major thing is you really really should take a course, even if it is Themis. Self studying for your first bar exam is a bad idea.
I would second this. I think there’s a difference in moving from a city with no much going on to a bigger/growing city with way more to offer.
I need all the chapters of this playbook.
Grass might be greener** whoops

Loving the spooky vibes
Being by Maumee, Ohio, it’s cute they think it’s worth a shot. Probably better off piggybacking onto Detroit’s bid
It’s very likely I will steal your cool cat costume idea. Can only be a “sexy” cat so many times
Wines from Washington State’s Charles Smith winery are decently priced at Kroger and my usual go-to. Initially discovered by picking a cool label.

Chills
I wouldn’t know who you were, but then that could lead to an easy opening line.
Using “very truly yours” after a snarky letter is a go-to for lawyers, makes me chuckle when the letter is especially scathing
*bookmark for future use when boyfriend exists*
CBS Sunday Morning is so chill. Gotta love the full minute of only nature sounds and visuals at the end.
Came here to say that too. Selling yourself and your practice is a big part of moving up, other than the actual practice.

I’ll proffer the choice of a Canadian Club and Vernor’s. Hits the spot every time.
GAF is messy af
