They both essentially end in state capitalism, where the state has taken full reign of the economy and all that entails. The difference between fascism (far right) and communism (far left) is window dressing.
Also, future lobbyist, as someone whose second degree is in Germanic studies: the Nazi party was essentially taken over by the German far right. It was a liberal workers party prior to the 1930s, but there was a bit of the culling of the herd as Hitler’s populist rhetoric lead many actual leftists to either flee the party or join the nationalist fervor and shift to the right. Hitler himself was a bit of a political odd duck. In terms of social issues, he was extremely right wing, and clearly an imperialist aggressor. His domestic policy was more liberal, but only in that he basically did the same kinds of things FDR did on a nationalization level, though he went further with healthcare and the railway system at the urging of those hold outs from the Nazi left-wing era.
Sorry for the tl;dr, but I think it’s important for people to understand the actual historical context in Germany when this issue gets brought up. Really, both the left and the right ends of the spectrum created Nazi Germany. It was a bi-partisan effort.
