To the person choosing a city, I’d recommend you start somewhere that you have at least some friends or family, or think you can build a network. It’s much easier to make friends/find a job when you know one person compared to zero

It all depends on how you use it. I’ve always found LinkedIn useful for seeing who my friends/contacts know and asking for intros at companies of interest
