Her letter was like one really long whine. You can’t afford bread but you’re paying $1245 in rent? Sounds like you’re shitty at budgeting, thank god for that English degree.
At that point you just have to tell her no, you can’t have that one and give her the budget. Can’t imagine what house shopping or restaurant picking or vacation selections are going to be like for your friend.
Buddy of mine was at the jewelry store recently getting something fixed and said he saw a guy customizing a ring on a touch screen. $2k base model that he got up to 16 grand after everything his fiance wanted. That’s a lot of goddamn Yeezy’s.
Wrigleyville is pretty much only an acceptable place to drink if it’s before the Cub game you’re heading to. Otherwise, total shithole full of college kids and undesirables.
Smoque BBQ on the North side is solid. Lillie’s Q in Bucktown and Green Street in West Loop. Twin Anchors in Lincoln Park is old and a classic. Lem’s is way up there but that’s far south side.
Alinea in Chicago (#19) is permanently closed. Girl and the Goat (#38) has some weird things on the menu but don’t be deterred, most are pretty good. Also, there’s no way California has this much great food.
