I think it depends on the age, but really the individual. To me it seems like that move done on a college age-very recent graduate might be viewed as clingy/desperate/needy, while 25+ might see it as more straightforward. Not a woman though so don’t know, but at least you got an answer instead of it dragging out.
Ditto. Once I showed up in a suit first day of work only to find out it was business casual, with an emphasis on casual. Apparently it was for their amusement they didn’t tell me.
This is great and sums up my point of view perfectly. If you don’t want to do something, then don’t do it! Don’t feel obligated because hallmark cards and Norman Rockwell says so, do what you want to do.
While I agree that social media is awful/shallow/vain/etc. I love it. The more we post articles saying “don’t post this” “don’t say that,” the farther we remove ourselves from the glory days when Facebook was like the Wild West where political rants, feuds, and questionable pictures abound. Don’t kill the Wild West!

Friend I hadn’t seen in awhile said he thought I had died. Not sure the exact moment but I haven’t been able to hang for sometime now.
