Suicide Squad got a nomination and that movie is a fucking mess. Do I think Deadpool deserves anything though? No.
The only superhero movies that come to mind as Oscar worthy are the dark knight, Spider-Man 2 (that’s putting it loosely), and maybe this new Wolverine movie but we’ll have to see.
Very rare a movie wins best picture and not director as well, but not unheard of.
That being sad I’m betting on La La because it’s essentially a story about themselves (Hollywood) and the sacrifices they make to become stars- they’re going to eat that shit up.
