After working 24 of the last 36 hours on an unreasonable deadline, I went way too hard last night. Still have to finish the project this morning amidst this brutal hangover. Channeling the Michael Jordan flu game today. Time to GET AFTER IT.
After my team won a rivalry football game over my bartender’s team, we devolved into a shots war, making each other the most vile drinks we could. Spoiler alert: he won. I woke up with no memories after 9 pm and my girlfriend woke up on the bathroom floor.
I would also add that for 1L summer, government jobs and other nonprofits (not through your school) are great options. If you can land a federal gig for a judge or USAO, that’s gold. Same with a state AG’s office. Also, nonprofits are always understaffed and overworked.
Added bonus: your work at most of those places will be far more substantive than a firm and you’ll probably learn usable skills.
