Maybe some of the law school people on the site can comment on this, but how in the world were police able to legally detain and question this guy for 5-6 hours over one sentence with no other proof whatsoever?
Just speaking from things I’ve seen in my career. As a CPA, I get to see people making insane types of money and at some point, that 50K doesn’t matter as much.
Of course it’s not something that we, the PGP crowd, can relate to, but hopefully one day we will be able to.
Looks like the observed couples in San Francisco, so I assume that they were in higher income brackets. At some point, making that 50K doesn’t make THAT much of a difference. I would think that going from 50K to 100K a year is much more significant than going from 150K to 200K.
It’s actually not that hard to get one these days. As long as you have a decent credit score (low-mid 700s), that $450 annual fee can easily be offset by a good intro offer (75K-100K points) and all the perks (free Centurion lounge access, free Global Entry, etc.).
Hell yes. I’ve made it very clear to my girlfriend that I want an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch for my 30th birthday, but I definitely won’t mind it if we ever get engaged and she gets it for me then.
Was going to get crappy Munchery at work…and then I realized that I can get away with leaving on time today. So I’m having home made tacos, courtesy of the girlfriend.
I’m assuming that this was written before #Oscargate because I would think that the two PwC partners who hand out the winner envelopes to the presenters would have to be at the top of that list.
I would love to be a fly at one of their many follow up meetings and I wonder how many heads will roll.

Only if you suck at managing money.

So the results are not that surprising.

Amex Platinums are charge cards, not credit cards, and don’t have credit limits since they have to paid off fully each month.
Maybe he did and it broke.
So who’s the owner of that Amex Platinum’s account – her dad or Todd?
Maybe you can that money you save from not buying Girl Scout cookies and use it on condoms instead.
I think this guy thinks it’s 1957 and not 2017.
It was pretty solid, but the third best of the year in my opinion, after Manchester and La La Land.

“Sir, did you hand over the wrong envelope?”
“I did.”
“How shall we remedy this?”
“I think it’s best if we let a couple of associates go, that’ll show them that we mean business and own up to our mistakes.”

Too bad you couldn’t put your Stick in Lauren’s Donkey on a Table.
This one was all on the partners though since they handed the presenters the wrong envelope.
But knowing Big 4, I’m sure they’ll find a way to scapegoat this to some seniors and/or staff.
Nah, I’m in the private industry. Used to work at a Big 4 though.

And you haven’t yet submitted a piece about this because….
These guys definitely peaked in high school
