Like most of yall, I was just here to kill time while bored at work. It doesn’t feel like a coincidence that this AdminAssistant has just this week been promoted and is now moving on in work life. Thank you, PGP for bringing me a laugh during all of the heartbreak, confusion, fears, and joys that is postgradlife. I spent about 5 years with you guys, so I guess that means today is graduation day. No longer a postgrad, but a full blown adult.
I’ve been thinking this lately too. My bf’s dog has been in my life 6 years now, but we think he’s around 10. He was a rescue off the side of the road. I’m not emotionally prepared for the day I come home and he doesn’t immediately run up to greet me at the door.
My racist uncle asked if I had put on weight. I took a large swig of red wine and said “Probably, I eat a lot of pizza” and walked away. But then, I definitely finished the bottle after that.
This. Surely the friend will offer to get a round or two to help even it all out? I would if I was in the same boat. Adding on, as a former regular third wheel, Sarah throwing in a card for dinner means she pays half of the bill for 3 people, or the waiter is doing math he doesn’t want to do. It makes more sense to let her even it out somewhere else.
I had to ultimately break up with two of my college roommates. Pretty sure they think I’m a snobby bitch for doing so, but we were growing apart. No longer enjoyed the same things, or agreed with each others’ life choices. I decided it was best to let the good times stay in the past and focus on my friendships that fit who I am today. Sometimes it’s just time to move on.
I’m currently a bridesmaid and there will be two showers. I’m attending the one in town, and declining the out of town one. I think the spirit of your bridesmaid obligations are to make a genuine effort to go to what you can, with the only MUST being the rehearsal and wedding itself. I can’t imagine any of my friends expecting me to give up 6 weekends for their wedding (wedding, bach party, plus 4 showers). Go to the one (mayyybe 2) that make the most sense for you, attendee and travel-wise, and damn sure only get one gift.
I’m just getting started with my bridesmaid duties and it is appalling how expensive it is, even with a low key bride. I’m already out $1000 and all I’ve paid for so far is the dress and lodging for the bach party and the wedding itself.
STI guy, exactly what others here have said. It’s a routine part of womens’ yearly exams, and stuff can be dormant for a really long time. Plus, like Dill said, you can’t know for sure that you’re not a symptom-less carrier of something if you haven’t gotten checked out yourself.
I finally gave up on dieting and went with a nutritionist. FWIW, she said that, as a general rule, men see better results with IF than women do. Something to do with how their hormones regulate, etc. And of course, there are always exceptions to this rule.

“Have you put on weight?”
Me- Probably

I came here thinking you were announcing that TGDAG was being cancelled. This is much, much worse news.

Currently running a space heater under my desk. Fire hazard be damned.
I briefly worked at an oil and gas company that had a full cafeteria FOR FREE each day. Those were the days.
I’ve gotten into ordering coffee based alcoholic drinks so I can cut my drink number to just that plus a water.
I hope you had some minis of rum stashed away in your bag.

Took up a side hustle as a Barre instructor over here and I feel you! The money, discount, etc is nice, but I am TIRED

There are plenty where she isn’t hungover. Don’t make it weird.
Checking in with $15 over here. Debt is the worstttttt
What did Nick just say about being condescending?? Also, like, congrats on being rich and/or good with your money. But GTFO with that attitude
Right? “I feel absolutely nothing about it.” Sorry you don’t have a soul, bro.
