If you currently feel underpaid (and don’t we all?), instead of asking for a promotion that can net you a 7% salary increase, you might want to start thinking about jumping career tracks to something a little more lucrative that might even let you pay off your student loans early. The good news is that LinkedIn’s here to help you with your job hunt, since they just posted the highest median salaries for 2017, which is awesome. The terrible news is that the chances you’re qualified for any of these positions are almost zero unless you went to medical school. If you went to medical school or your undergraduate GPA wasn’t enough of an abomination that you’re still considering it in the future, check out LinkedIn’s top 20 careers, because some of these salaries are absolutely out of this world.

I’d like to take this moment to speak to the director of my undergraduate English department, who once assured me that my degree in the liberal arts would allow me to do anything. Apparently, “anything” means nothing high-paying, but hey, I was lazy and didn’t want to study for physics, so I can’t put the blame entirely on him either. However, if you hate your job, it’s not too late to put those STEM skills to use and pursue a Master’s degree in a decent field, and you never know – you might just prepare yourself for a decent career this time..

I think Wall Street begs to differ. (Hint: Finance jobs are paid by way of massive bonus, not salary)
Work in Finande (although not on Wall St.) and can confirm. Although my total pay is still below any of the positions on this list.
If I only got 7% after a promotion I would ask to go back to my old position.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, pump the brakes. You’re seriously going to try to convince me that doctors make a lot of money??
Aka top ten reasons you should have gone to med school
This is a great read on a day where you don’t feel like shit about your job already.
Not sure whether to be pissed podiatrist is #20 on the list or thrilled it made the list
Why, you got a foot fetish fam?
Cool.
What in the fuck is a hospitalist?
Usually an internist but one who works in in-patient care in the hospital. As opposed to an internist who works at a family or general practice.
hm interesting
I honestly thought #17 said Atheist at first glance and I was like “OMG! That’s unreal!” Then I read it again and became sad that my initial reaction was wrong….and also very hypocritical.
