Honestly, I don’t have much to say this Monday morning. I had a quiet weekend, which wasn’t a bad thing. I did some reading, some writing, some cleaning, some shopping and a whole lot of laying around. Even though it was pretty boring, it was definitely better than some people’s.
Blac Chyna
Whether it’s due to my subpar driving skills or the idiocy of other Boston drivers, I’ve been a fair share of car accidents, so I can say with some authority that getting rear-ended is one of the worst kinds of accident to be in. Like, why can’t the person behind you just stop? It’s not that hard.
Blac Chyna was the victim of a different kind of rear-end then she’s likely used to when her white Roll-Royce was hit around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning in Studio City, CA. While Chyna was checked out in an ambulance on the scene and then left with a friend, the other driver was detained by the LAPD and put their sobriety tests (although it’s not clear if he/she was arrested).
Seriously people, don’t drink and drive. That’s why Uber was invented – and they need the business right now. [via US Magazine]
Lil Kim
To be honest, I’m a little bit afraid of AirBnB. I don’t like unknown entities, and I feel more comfortable staying in a well-known hotel brand than a random house or apartment. But even if I wasn’t happy with my rental accommodations, I don’t think I’d take it as far as the rapper allegedly did this weekend.
Kim is a “person of interest” in an investigation by the LAPD after a robbery of the owner of the house that she rented this weekend for the BET Awards. According to TMZ:
Sunday at 2 AM Kim and her crew went to check out the house, didn’t like it and demanded their money back from either the owner or property manager.
The money wasn’t forthcoming, an argument erupted and cops were called. Police arrived and told them it was a civil matter and they could do nothing … so they left.
We’re told Kim and her crew also left, but at 4 AM, a group of people showed up at the house with ski masks and weapons and got what they were after … Kim’s deposit check and cash, totaling at least $20k.
Law enforcement sources say the robbers weren’t done … they also slashed all of the victim’s tires and stole a hubcap.
Couldn’t she have just checked into a Sheraton or something? [via TMZ]
This Girl At Six Flags
I’m also afraid of heights, which means that I avoid most rides at amusement parks. Reinforcing this avoidance is this story of what happened to a 14-year-old girl at Six Flags in update New York on Saturday.
The girl was on a gondola-type sky ride when she somehow slipped out of the car and got her neck stuck in the metal lap bar. The operator stopped the ride, and the girl was left dangling 25 feet in the air. And of course, someone captured it and posted video to Facebook:
Luckily, the girl was caught as she dropped by a group of onlookers who had gathered below; she was transported to the hospital where she is in stable condition. [via New York Post]
Hummus Lovers
Were you planning on being the unoriginal loser that brought hummus and pita chips to a 4th of July party next weekend? You may want to rethink that plan.
Following in the footsteps of many of our food favorites, such as macadamias nuts, cashews, pancakes, and frozen pizza, several brands of hummus have been recalled over concerns about listeria.
The recall only effects varieties of Fresh Foods Market, Lantana and Marketside hummus that have pine nuts on top. According to CNN:
Knoxville, Tennessee-based House of Thaller is recalling the hummus products because ingredient supplier HVF Inc. informed the company that the roasted pine nuts may be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes. The products were distributed from April 18 to June 13 in the United States and on April 20 in Canada.
Well, it’s a good thing for me that I don’t like hummus anyway. [via CNN]
Klay Thompson
Golden State Warrior Thompson should have been having a good weekend, being NBA champion and all, right? But while making a promotional appearance in China for Anta, the Chinese-based shoe brand that Thompson has a sponsorship deal with, the shooting guard ran into some problems with the rim:

Monday Morning Boost
The first preview for Pitch Perfect 3 dropped this weekend.
…and it’s only 25 Mondays away. .

Am I going to hell for laughing my ass off at the girl hanging from the ski lift ride?
(Can assume) your ticket to hell was punched a long time ago my friend.
I got yelled at for accidentally walking through the filming of Pitch Perfect 3.
Klay woulda made that dunk in J’s. Figured shoes marketed in China would have similar bounce smh…
