It seems like every month now we sit and wait for Netflix to tell us which of our favorite movies and TV shows will be added to the service and which will be leaving us forever come the first of the month. The streaming lord giveth and the streaming lord taketh away. This month they seem to be axing a ton of fantastic ’90s movies, so you’ve only got a few days left to enjoy classics like Air Bud, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Dumb and Dumber and Cool Runnings.
Netflix is about to cut and slash their massive stockpile of nostalgic movies.

Damn, those new offerings are pretty sparse. Other than Patch Adams, Tina Fey’s newest show Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, new seasons of Mad Men and Archer and a new Aziz Ansari special, it’s not much of anything. I guess 3rd Rock from the Sun has a big following, but that’s gonna be on Hulu Plus as well, so that’s not that big of a deal. March seems to be going out like a lamb as far as Netflix goes.
Oh well, at least by then you’ll be able to watch House of Cards Season 3 again..

Fucking finally, been waiting on Archer Season 5 forever.
That makes two
March 7th I’ll be getting drunk and watching Archer.
Just like the Gypsy Woman said!
Hey Shibby.
How can you not count Trailer Park Boys as a victory?
Never seen it but it’s been recommended to me a ton. Definitely gonna check it out.
Don’t you have some offs to fuck?
Why don’t you go make yourself some more cheeseburgers?
Frig off, Lahey.
Petition to keep Cool Runnings. And still waiting on Bob’s Burgers season 4…
The vast majority of these are garbage. Damn near makes me wish Blockbuster was still around.
#shitnobodysays
Blockbuster is still around. It’s called a Netflix account with DVD access.
Mad men season 7 is out right before the final season. perfect timing.
Unless you’re the type of person who regularly smokes a lot of pot and turns on Cartoon Network, I’m pretty sure most people won’t miss these things.
Have we met?
Muppet treasure island is gone! Fuck you Netflix, you get the black spot.
A Different World is a solid addition; I highly recommend folks checking out.
Does Netflix need better negotiators to make deals to keep everything online? Why do they lose programs so frequently?
They have a certain amount of money budgeted for each month/year. When they sign contracts to show a movie or show, it is for a certain amount of time. They figure “Hey we got “show abc” and “move xyz” for our viewers for 3 months. If they watched it in those 3 months, they will want something new to watch. If they didn’t watch it in those 3 months, they must not have wanted to watch it. Either way, out with the old, in with the new.
tl;dr, bc $$$
That’s what I figured. I was naively hoping for more of a hoarding mentality, I guess.
