I think it’s a mix of New York and Chicago to make it relatable to as many people as possible. He’s referenced Wicker Park before, so that’s why I think that’s the thought process. Kind of like how he won’t give us her name/height/hair color so that we can have our own image of her.
Coming from a civilian that’s had several friends and family members in the military, the best thing you can do is just to educate yourself on the military. Try to understand (you’ll never fully understand unless you enlist, but enough to empathize and grasp what they’ve been through) and just talk to them. They’re normal people that have just seen some shit.
Ball cap, headphones, long sleeves. Everyone understands you’re there to get your workout in and won’t talk to you unless you’re at the water fountain.
I can’t even be excited about this. All that’s going to happen is that Todd’s going to go to the Derby, almost hook up with a girl, feel bad, and end up getting back together with her…
He’s actually amazing with kids. He has a cooking show with kids, and is honestly one of the kindest people I’ve ever seen. You can find videos comparing the two, and they’re the greatest things on the internet.
I’m picturing John giving Todd a ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ -esque pep talk to keep them together so he doesn’t have to deal with all the crazy alone.

Eh, I think Will’s girlfriend is probably pretty excited. Mean’s she’s getting a ring sometime soon.
I’m a full day late, but in one of the earlier ones he mentioned Wicker Park. Unless there’s another one I’m unaware of, they live in Chicago.
Your friends clearly aren’t as big of assholes as mine…
Mine’s still dating the guy almost 4 years later. I feel the pain.
Don’t you live in Boston? Kind of the pot calling the kettle black, don’t you think?
So…. Nothing’s going to change…

I was wondering the same thing. This is one of the best series I’ve read on this website, but “Thud and a Splash” had me on the edge of my seat.
Touching Base, Episode 49 (I think it’s around there)
When you have 13 teams in the Major 4 then you’ll tend to have a decent chance of one of them winning a championship… Not a valid argument at all.
Will has actually dropped a few Chicago references in here, especially early on.

Not really. It’s just less shitty.
Wrong

Have to agree. Don’t know the tone she used, but if the section she wrote about him is any indication then it probably came across as bitchy.
This was fantastic except that Tripp dumped her. (See the first birthday dinner article)
