Seems to me like you have interests in both criminal and civil areas. Apply to both prosecuting offices and criminal defense firms. You can focus a lot more on defense firms that maybe have other focuses like commercial areas or real estate law. Law school doesn’t prepare you for the actual practice of any of these areas unless you do clinic, mock trial or moot court. If you enjoy your criminal clinic make sure the firms you apply for have attorneys practicing criminal defense.
Otherwise enjoy your last year of school. It’s a blast and make sure your mentally prepared to study hard for the bar exam.
Agreed. It’s a bigger hit to your ego to not be able to accept your job offer because you didn’t pass than to not have an offer until you pass. During my last year I interned for different governmental agencies. I spent most of my weekends networking with practicing attorneys or just drinking with them for fun.
Not all attorneys work insane amount of hours. Most attorneys that do are making more than average attorney salary or building their own practice. There is always a way to push your employer back to give you space for studying for the LSAT.
When stuck on an answer choice always pick the answer the screws the attorney/costs the most money. Take the Barbie prep for like 150 bucks and you’ll pass with a couple days prep.
After the bar exam, I placed all my barbri books and notes into the truck of my car. Proceeded to drink heavily. Then I informed my friends and family that every time I heard one of them say “bar exam” or “bar prep” that said person owed me a drink.
Definitely, take some time for yourself the day before and get enough rest. Eat right and hydrate properly. You do not want to have to take too many bathroom breaks during the MBE portion.
Tell Aubrey Marcus of Onnit that working in the sex toy industry will hurt you. He turned Onnit into a 28 million dollar company in 5 years. He worked for fleshlight prior to starting his own business.
I have no idea why people don’t like my initial comment. You should negotiate the hell out of the situation. The fact of the matter is that (1) you can be let go at any time or (2) you likely won’t stay there in the next 12 months anyway. If your superior has to actually ask for loyalty then he clearly is not making it worth your while to stick around and work hard for him. There has to be an incentive. Make he or she give a greater incentive if they ask for more of your life.
“more respectable sites” = people who are desperate enough to pay money instead of the fate of left/right swipe technique
Missed Connections. 😉
Haven’t had it for 3 years. I miss drunk chicken nuggets…
Wtf
Mother’s Day in September?
Did you see the eclipse?

Started writing a shitty comment about her. Then realized she still has some pull on my heart strings. I hate her.
“mind bottling” lol

Good one kid. Sick burn. Tell your mom “sup?” and go finish undergrad.

Pete Campbell of SCDP would agree with your assessment.
*Naked sophomores whose clothes were thrown out by me.
Just to be specific
