I live in the country and just buy a hotel or crash with a buddy when I go out in the city. It’s definitely not the same as having your own place there, but it’s better than $1000 a month to live in a crammed shoe box.
I’ve never been to brunch, either. I’m assuming you work and live somewhere in the sticks of Virginia? I work in Alexandria but live about an hour south, so I feel ya. I grew up and currently live in the sticks, and brunch isn’t really a thing where I’m from. I’ll be moving closer to work soon so I plan on trying bottomless mimosas to calm my Sunday scaries.
There are plenty of cool things to do and see in DC but the rent is ridiculous and you’d be living in DC… Get a place in Alexandria or Arlington and Uber into the city ($10).
How come one-liners aren’t posted on Twitter more frequently like TFM’s or TSM’s? Almost every PGP tweet is a link to an article now. You’ll get more RT’s from one-liners by far.
I grew up and currently live in the country. I work in the city. I’d easily choose country over city any day for the simple fact that there’s no traffic here. No other argument needed.
In the same exact situation, only I drive my commute. Better than public transportation because I don’t have to deal with anyone else’s shit or the train breaking down, but it still sucks racking up mileage on my car. Sitting in traffic every single day is absolute hell. Driving to and from work is by far the worst part of my day.
This was me before I went away to college. I worked at a pizza shop when I was 18 and ate there all day, every day. I gained so much weight and my doctor even said I was at risk for health problems. I was depressed, fatigued, and always felt like crap. I moved away to school and I lost 70 pounds over the course of 3 years. Being far away from all that easily accessible food and turning my focus towards IM sports, school, etc. really helped me. I am now much happier and my confidence is at an all time high. Thank you for sharing your story.

I’ll take humidity over this 5 degree bullshit weather we have on the east coast any day. I’ve seen enough snow to last me a lifetime.

All fried everything + water and your bed is always the move.
“Our nearly identical driving loafers were a dead giveaway that we were outsiders. That, and our hairlines.”-The hairline part cut real deep.
And invest in a nice hat collection.

You won’t date guys with kids, but it’s OK for women to get upset and offended when guys refuse to date single moms? Love the contradiction.
I believe it. But that’s still not a career. Is he still going to be still bartending in Miami when he’s 40?
