Halloween may not be religious now but it started as the Catholic church co-opting the pagan holiday of Samhain from the Celts and turning it into All Saints/All Hallows Eve. Kept the fall festival, just added more Jesus.
My bestie has a pharmacy student conference in my hometown this weekend so I took a three day weekend to drive home to see her and my folks. Hoping we don’t end up on Monday’s column.
My grandma stayed around for a few months after she died, when the family spent that first Thanksgiving at her house after she passed she made her presence known. And my cousin has regular interactions with her dad who passed three years ago, he likes to flicker her lights and fiddle with her keys. Ghosts are definitely real and I’m a hard science person.
Happy Birthday! Tonight the squad and I are going to Fear Factory to get scared shitless. Tomorrow I’m running a Halloween half marathon in a Wonder Woman costume, followed by watching the alma mater play a local school here. The only time I expect to leave the couch on Sunday is to take banana bread out of the oven.
That’s why we registered there. Let everyone else buy us the expensive stemware and gadgetry. Plus they gave us two wine glasses as a gift for doing so.
Getting my iPhone battery fixed tomorrow, buying some yarn to knit a new beanie, and maybe making some cookies or banana bread. It’s going to be a low-key weekend!
Fiancé scored courtside seats for the Jazz game tonight from work, so I’ll be there pretending to enjoy basketball and watching a bunch of Australians get drunk. Otherwise I’ve got some beef ragu in the crockpot for dinner tomorrow and I’m going to watch the snowline creep down the Wasatch Front!
Coworker brought me apples and a zucchini so I’m going on a fall baking spree. Bourbon apple cake, zucchini brownies, pumpkin bread, and cinnamon raisin bread are all on the docket.
That sounds like a family reunion living in your pocket. It’s fun for about 15 minutes and then you’re looking for the booze and a way out.

The rabbit ears are how we’d watch the Olympics in college. We weren’t paying for a cable package when we had a netflix accound and the internet.

Not to mention you would be shotgunning sans space suit. So it becomes a race to finish your beer before either one of you boil off.

Is that a meth head in detox or the remnants of Taco Tuesday, no one knows!
No Todd, here is not fine.
Second Leon’s for custard, I still have cravings for it and I haven’t been to Milwaukee since I was 16.
