Besides the fact that we didn’t evolve to live in big cities feeling lonely despite being surrounded by people, it also makes little sense to expect to be socially fulfilled by one other person and your coworkers a majority of the time. No matter how well you get along with your partner, you gotta have bro/girl time with your friends.
She can’t be blissfully unaware of the long term effects. And while money’s not everything, when money fights are the most common of all fights in marriages. So getting on the same page financially speaking will help the relationship tremendously. She mentioned how expensive the habit is so she has at least acknowledged it as significant.
Any tips on letting a girl with a shitty boyfriend know that he’s a shitty boyfriend? She hasn’t had many guys before and doesn’t seem to grasp that his actions are not something she would have to put up with.
We talked for a while and she agreed to go on a date with me then her on again off again guy comes back from out of town (after weeks of radio silence and them being “complicated”) and goes through her phone first thing (me thinks he was probably talking to other girls while gone based on how she explained he was acting). She cancelled.
Do we as guys just pretend girls aren’t attractive until we somehow find out they’re single again?
She’s def not the type to contact me and be like “Oh btw I’m single again, you should ask me out”
It’s such a fine line. You also have to factor in “to what degree do personal preference and introversion, social anxiety etc. play?” How can we differentiate? What do we mean by “creepy?”
If you didn’t see the justice league situation coming then you’re probably not any more into DC than the people who saw Marvel and said “hey we like money and that looks easy enough let’s do that. There are other comics right?”
Two of those seemed a bit too similar. “Get another helping then don’t have sex cause you’re cool” and “don’t have sex because you just ate a big meal”
Fucking stellar. Very clever. Upped the verbiage game a bit when describing how you’re deep and not a drone. I’d think this was unconscious but after describing this move I’m inclined to think otherwise.

At this most recent visit to my neurologist we basically realized that depression as a side effect just comes with the territory of the epilepsy medication that works for me. It took realizing that I was the only one with power to fix anything to realize that I actually DID have power.
Former counselor told me sunlight, hydration, physical exertion. In additions to some other changes I’ve recently made, I do 5 pushups at 10 til every hour while I’m at work and home (to add more every week).
Besides the slight endorphin burst, believing that I’m doing something that will make a difference helps.

This is wild. I turn 29 in a month and am both disappointed and relieved that a “now you are an adult” switch doesn’t get automatically flipped.

It’s ok to forgive yourself and move on. I’m in the middle of divorce and am moving towards the feeling of relief after the feeling of failure.
Just because you (and I️) made mistakes doesn’t mean you (and I️) aren’t allowed to pursue a better life now. You are forgiven.
