Bromulus, I was a ROTC dolphin six weeks out from becoming a bootenant when a very poorly timed drunken misadventure put that on ice. I’m waiting on a waiver to enlist then in a couple years I’m gonna try to go enlisted to officer.
Slightly unrelated to the article and hopefully redundant but if you’re a bystander and see something sketchy going on, do something about it. A lot of times these predatory behaviors occur because the aggressor doesn’t believe there’ll be a consequence for their actions. Most of the time they can be deterred with a few words, at worst you may have to grab a bouncer or step out in the parking lot but at the end of the day you’ve still spared someone a potentially traumatic experience.
This doesn’t mean walking around blindly white knighting without making any kind of effort to assess the situation. It just means keep your eyes open and trust your gut/intuition if something seems out of place. Also it should go without saying but whoever you just got out of a jam does not owe you thank you sex just because you chose to do the right thing.
College prices for non STEM degrees are a bubble that will burst once it becomes clear that you can make just as much in the trades, nursing etc. without the millstone of debt and slew of nebulous gen eds that come with most 4 year programs.
Would prefer politics stayed out of Peej for both commenters and authors but at the end of the day is it really worth getting your flippers in a bunch about it?
